Omschrijving
Omschrijving onderdeel 14: HEK MET BURCHTEN (Groenendaal).
Ingangspartij gelegen aan de zijde van de Herenweg ter ontsluiting van de Sparrenlaan. In half ovaalvormig terugspringende hekpartij uit de eerste helft van de achttiende eeuw bestaande uit forse met natuursteen beklede hekpijlers in blokmotief gedecoreerd en aan de voorzijde voorzien van een gedecoreerde pilaster. De bekroning met ronde van kantelen voorziene burchttorens is waarschijnlijk van latere datum. Tussen de hoekpijlers en aan de rechterzijde een eenvoudig smeedijzeren hek.
Waardering
Het hek is van belang:
- vanwege de functionele en decoratieve waarde op de buitenplaats;
- in zijn relatie met de portierswoning.

Description of component 14: GATE WITH TURRETS (Groenendaal).
Entrance section located on the side of the Herenweg for access to the Sparrenlaan. In a half-oval recessed gate section from the first half of the eighteenth century consisting of substantial gate pillars clad with natural stone decorated with block motif and provided on the front with a decorated pilaster. The crowning with round crenellated turrets is probably of later date. Between the corner pillars and on the right side a simple wrought-iron gate.
Valuation
The gate is of significance:
- because of its functional and decorative value on the country estate;
- in its relation with the porter's lodge.
