Omschrijving
Omschrijving onderdeel 4: VIJVER (Bosbeek).
Voor het huis Bosbeek gelegen vijver uit de eerste helft van de 18de eeuw. De vijver ligt niet in de as van het huis, maar ten zuidwesten hiervan. Wellicht bestond er een tweede vijver of kom als tegenhanger van deze gespiegeld over de as vanuit het hoofdhuis. De dieper gelegen vijver heeft twee rechte zijden en twee gebogen zijden met daartussen ingezwenkte hoeken. De gemetselde beschoeiing is inmiddels vernieuwd. Aan de oost- en westzijde leidt een hardstenen trap met drie treden toe tot het opnieuw aangelegde wandelpad om de vijver. De treden worden aan beide zijden afgesloten door keermuurtjes, waarop gebeeldhouwde natuurstenen dekplaten in Lodewijk XIV-stijl. Het beeldhouwwerk, twee vazen en twee leeuwfiguren, boven aan de trappen, is niet oorspronkelijk.
Waardering
De vijver is van belang:
- als inmiddels zeldzaam voorbeeld van een dergelijke 18de-eeuws element;
- vanwege de decoratieve waarde voor de buitenplaats.

Description
Description of component 4: POND (Bosbeek).
Pond situated in front of the house Bosbeek dating from the first half of the 18th century. The pond is not in line with the house, but to the southwest of it. It is possible that there was a second pond or basin as a counterpart mirrored across the axis from the main house. The deeper pond has two straight sides and two curved sides with angled corners between them. The brick facing has since been renewed. On the east and west sides a stone staircase with three steps leads to the newly laid walking path around the pond. The steps are closed off on both sides by retaining walls, on which are sculptured natural stone coping tiles in Louis XIV style. The sculpture work, two vases and two lion figures, at the top of the stairs, is not original.
Valuation
The pond is of importance:
- as a nowadays rare example of such an 18th-century element;
- because of the decorative value for the country estate.
