Inleiding.
GRAFMONUMENT van de familie Th. Halewijn (+ 1894). In 1894 in Eclectische vormen vervaardigd door de Bossche architect/beeldhouwers Dobbe en Van Pelt. Het graf bevindt zich ten westen van de bisschopskapel in sectie 21-13-01-10.
Omschrijving.
Het grafmonument bestaat uit een door een hardstenen voetplaat met hoekpaaltjes omgeven tombe met aan het hoofdeinde van de grafplaat een stèle met kruisbekroning. De rechthoekige paaltjes zijn geometrisch geornamenteerd en lopen iets taps toe. Ze zijn onderling verbonden door gedraaide smeedijzeren schakelkettingen. De tombe heeft een trapezoïde-vormige opbouw met insnoeringen en een aflopende, tweezijdig afgeschuinde grafplaat met inscripties. Ook in de stèle komt de trapezoïdevormige opbouw terug. Deze wordt verder bekroond met frontons die het basement van het kruis omgeven. Aan de voorzijde van de opbouw is een marmeren plaquette aangebracht. De stèle wordt bekroond door een kalkstenen kruis waaraan een stenen bloemenkrans is opgehangen. De signatuur bevindt zich rechtsvoor op de voetplaat.
Waardering.
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang als illustratie van de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. Het graf heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een groter geheel met cultuurhistorische, architectuurhistorische en typologische samenhang.
Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en typologisch zeldzaam.

Description.
The grave monument consists of a tomb surrounded by a hardstone base plate with corner posts and at the head end of the grave slab a stele with cross crown. The rectangular posts are geometrically ornamented and taper slightly. They are connected to each other by twisted wrought-iron coupling chains. The tomb has a trapezoidal structure with constrictions and a sloping, doubly bevelled grave slab with inscriptions. The trapezoidal form is also repeated in the stele. This is further crowned with pediments that surround the base of the cross. On the front of the structure a marble plaque is mounted. The stele is crowned by a limestone cross from which a stone flower garland is hung. The signature is located at the front right on the base plate.
Valuation.
The grave monument is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of social and spiritual development, in particular the development of Catholic grave culture, it is also of importance as an illustration of the typological development of the grave monument. The grave has ensemble values as part of a larger whole with cultural-historical, architectural-historical and typological coherence.
It has been preserved intact and is typologically rare.
