Omschrijving
Inleiding.
GRAFMONUMENT, tevens familiegraf met grafkelder, opgericht omstreeks 1890 in neo-gotische vormen. Het monument is blijkens een inscriptie te 's-Hertogenbosch vervaardigd. Begraven zijn onder andere mevrouw Josephina Phillipon, echtgenote van dr. Kalling (1855-1890) en M.J.A.T. Nuijts (+ 11-4-1908). Het graf is gelegen ten westen van de bisschopskapel in sectie 25-14-01-01.
Omschrijving.
Het graf bestaat uit drie, naast elkaar geplaatste en van inscripties voorziene, hardstenen grafplaten met aan het hoofdeinde van de middelste grafplaat een hoge, neogotische stèle. De oorspronkelijke hoekpaaltjes zijn verdwenen. De stèle bestaat uit vier, zich verjongende zones. Slechts de bovenste hiervan is neogotisch vormgegeven met aan alle zijden spitsbogen, wimbergen, halfzuiltjes met witmarmeren bladkapiteeltjes en een haaks op elkaar staande doorgetrokken opbouw met zadeldaken. De (kruis)bekroning is deels afgebroken. De frontale wimberg is geornamenteerd met gegroefde florale voorstellingen. Aan de voorzijde zijn twee marmeren plaquettes aangebracht met inscripties. De inscripties op de plaquette in de frontale spitsboog zijn grotendeels onleesbaar.
Op de linker grafplaat wordt de ingang van de grafkelder aangeduid.
De stèle is aan de linkerzijde gesigneerd. De naam van de maker is onleesbaar, de plaatsnaam " 's-Bosch " is nog wel herkenbaar.
Waardering. Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang als illustratie van de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. Het graf heeft kunsthistorisch belang vanwege de kwaliteit van de toegepaste neogotische ornamentiek. Het graf heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een groter geheel met cultuurhistorische, architectuurhistorische en typologische samenhang. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en typologisch zeldzaam.

GRAVE MONUMENT, also a family grave with grave vault, erected around 1890 in neo-gothic forms. According to an inscription the monument was made in 's-Hertogenbosch. Buried here include Mrs. Josephina Phillipon, wife of Dr. Kalling (1855-1890) and M.J.A.T. Nuijts (+ 11-4-1908). The grave is located west of the bishop's chapel in section 25-14-01-01.
Description.
The grave consists of three, placed side by side and inscribed, hardstone grave slabs with at the head end of the middle grave slab a high, neo-gothic stele. The original corner posts have disappeared. The stele consists of four, progressively diminishing zones. Only the uppermost of these is designed in neo-gothic style with pointed arches on all sides, gables, small half-columns with white marble blade capitals and a mutually perpendicular extended structure with gabled roofs. The (cross) crown is partly broken. The frontal gable is ornamented with grooved floral representations. On the front two marble plaques are mounted with inscriptions. The inscriptions on the plaque in the frontal pointed arch are largely illegible.
On the left grave slab the entrance to the grave vault is indicated.
The stele is signed on the left side. The name of the maker is illegible, the place name "'s-Bosch" is still recognizable.
Valuation.
The grave monument is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of social and spiritual development, in particular the development of Catholic grave culture, it is also of importance as an illustration of the typological development of the grave monument. The grave has art-historical importance due to the quality of the applied neo-gothic ornamentation. The grave has ensemble values as part of a larger whole with cultural-historical, architectural-historical and typological coherence. It has been preserved intact and is typologically rare.
