Inleiding.
GRAFMONUMENT voor Christoffel Christianus Lutkie (1814-1881) en diens echtgenote Petronella Sch..ers (181.-188.). Het grafmonument is omstreeks 1881 in Eclectische vormen opgericht en valt op door de hoge kwaliteit van de ornamentiek. Het wordt omgeven door een laag ijzeren hekwerk met Neo-Gotische ornamentiek. Het graf is gelegen aan de westelijke zijde van de bisschopskapel in sectie 25-12-09-04.
Ligging voor nadere plaatsbepaling en juiste naamduiding: pal ten zuiden van het graf van Arnoldus J.B. Mertens (1899 - 1959).
Omschrijving.
Het grafmonument bestaat uit een hoog opgaande stèle met kalkstenen reliëf en twee bronzen portretmedaillons. De opbouw hiervan is verdeeld in vijf, zich verjongende zones. Deze zijn slechts aan de voorzijde geornamenteerd. Bovenop een rechthoekig hardstenen basement bevindt zich een voet met op de voorzijde een in tweeën gedeeld vlak met de epitafen. Hierboven bevindt zich een hoog kalkstenen tussenstuk met een nis een voorstelling van een zittende engel. De engel is gekleed in een lang, geplooid gewaad en heeft de blik omhoog gericht. In de rechterhand houdt de engel een lauwerkrans, in de tot borsthoogte geheven linkerhand een palmtak. De vleugels worden benut als omlijsting van de nis. In de zone boven het reliëf bevinden zich twee ronde bronzen portretmedaillons van de overledenen. Deze tonen de gelaten van de overledenen in 3/4 profiel. De stèle wordt bekroond door een omgekeerd hart dat aan de zijden ondersteund wordt door voluten. In het hart is centraal een kruis in reliëf aangebracht. Het monument was oorspronkelijk voorzien van een verflaag (vermoedelijk wit). Waar deze nog aanwezig is, is hij zwaar aangetast en verweerd. Aan de voet van de engel bevindt zich een niet meer leesbare inscriptie. Het grafmonument wordt omgeven door een laag ijzeren hekwerk met neogotische ornamentiek van in elkaar overlopende bogen en spitsbogen.
Waardering.
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang als illustratie van de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. Het graf heeft kunsthistorisch belang vanwege de hoge kwaliteit van de toegepaste eclectische en neogotische ornamentiek. Het graf heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een groter geheel met cultuurhistorische, architectuurhistorische en typologische samenhang. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en typologisch zeldzaam.

GRAVE MONUMENT for Christoffel Christianus Lutkie (1814-1881) and his wife Petronella Sch..ers (181.-188.). The grave monument was erected around 1881 in Eclectic forms and stands out for the high quality of its ornamentation. It is surrounded by a low iron railing with Neo-Gothic ornamentation. The grave is located on the western side of the bishop's chapel in section 25-12-09-04.

Description.
The grave monument consists of a high stele with limestone relief and two bronze portrait medallions. Its structure is divided into five, progressively diminishing zones. These are ornamented only on the front. On top of a rectangular hardstone base is a pedestal with on the front a surface divided into two parts with the epitaphs. Above this is a high limestone intermediate section with a niche containing a representation of a seated angel. The angel is dressed in a long, pleated garment and has her gaze directed upward. In her right hand the angel holds a laurel wreath, in her left hand raised to chest height a palm branch. The wings are used as a frame for the niche. In the zone above the relief are two round bronze portrait medallions of the deceased. These show the faces of the deceased in 3/4 profile. The stele is crowned by an inverted heart that is supported at the sides by volutes. In the heart a cross is centrally placed in relief. The monument was originally provided with a paint layer (presumably white). Where this is still present, it is heavily deteriorated and weathered. At the foot of the angel is an inscription no longer legible. The grave monument is surrounded by a low iron railing with neo-gothic ornamentation of interlocking arches and pointed arches.
Valuation.
The grave monument is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of social and spiritual development, in particular the development of Catholic grave culture, it is also of importance as an illustration of the typological development of the grave monument. The grave has art-historical importance due to the high quality of the applied eclectic and neo-gothic ornamentation. The grave has ensemble values as part of a larger whole with cultural-historical, architectural-historical and typological coherence. It has been preserved intact and is typologically rare.
