Inleiding.
GRAFMONUMENT voor de architect/aannemer H.C. Dobbe (1832-1903), diens vrouwen hun kinderen. Het zeer kunstig bewerkte eclectische monument in de vorm van een met gedrapeerd kleed bedekte kist is waarschijnlijk door Dobbe zelf ontworpen. Het verplaatste grafmonument bevindt zich aan de zuidwestelijke zijde van de bisschopskapel in sectie 25.
Omschrijving.
Het natuurstenen grafmonument heeft een rechthoekige grondslag. Op een lage onderbouw bevindt zich de tombe in de vorm van een met gedrapeerd kleed en kruis bedekte kist met iets schuin toelopend deksel. Aan het voeteneinde bevindt zich een geornamenteerd stenen kussen met kwasten op de hoeken. Centraal op het kleed wordt een kruisvormige doek gesuggereerd. Deze is aan de uiteinden met florale motieven geornamenteerd. Verder bevinden zich hierop, in reliëf aangebracht en in gotische letters, de namen der overledenen en een oproep voor hen te bidden. Aan de voet van het monument is een hardstenen plaat gelegd waarin de namen van de bijgezette kinderen zijn gehakt.
Waardering.
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang als illustratie van de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. Het grafmonument heeft kunsthistorisch belang vanwege de zeer hoge kwaliteit van de bewerking van de steen en de ongebruikelijke vormgeving. Het graf heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een groter geheel met cultuurhistorische, architectuurhistorische en typologische samenhang. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en typologisch zeldzaam.

The highly skillfully worked eclectic monument in the form of a casket covered with draped cloth was probably designed by Dobbe himself. The relocated grave monument is situated on the south-western side of the bishop's chapel in section 25.
Description.
The natural stone grave monument has a rectangular base. On a low substructure stands the tomb in the form of a casket covered with draped cloth and cross with slightly sloping lid. At the foot end is an ornamented stone cushion with tassels at the corners. Centrally on the cloth a cross-shaped cloth is suggested. This is ornamented at the ends with floral motifs. Furthermore, on it are the names of the deceased and a prayer request for them, applied in relief and in gothic letters. At the foot of the monument is a stone slab laid in which the names of the buried children are carved.
Valuation.
The grave monument is of general interest. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a social and spiritual development, especially the development of Catholic funerary culture, and is also important as an illustration of the typological development of the grave monument. The grave monument has art-historical value because of the very high quality of the stone working and the unusual design. The grave has ensemble values as part of a larger whole with cultural-historical, architectural-historical and typological coherence. It has been preserved in good condition and is typologically rare.
