Inleiding
Een aan de rand van het Wantijpark staand restant van een MUUR van een schietbaan, omstreeks 1910 opgetrokken in Ambachtelijk-traditionele trant. De schietbaan was in gebruik bij het in Dordrecht gelegerde Corps der Pontonniers, een genie-eenheid van het Nederlandse leger die zich onder meer bezighield met het bouwen van schipbruggen. Het schietbaanterrein is later toegevoegd aan het in de jaren 1933-1936 als werkgelegenheidsproject aangelegde Wantijpark.
Omschrijving
De in rode baksteen in kruisverband gemetselde muur bestaat uit een arcade van vijf gepleisterde segmentbogen tussen vierkante muurdammen en een rechthoekig muurrestant op het rechter deel van de arcade.
Waardering
De schietbaanmuur is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische, de ensemblewaarde en de zeldzaamheidswaarde.
- De muur is van cultuurhistorisch belang als een bijzonder voorbeeld van een militaire schietbaanmuur uit het begin van de twintigste eeuw.

Introduction
A remnant of a WALL of a rifle range standing at the edge of the Wantijpark, built around 1910 in the Artisanal-traditional manner. The rifle range was in use by the Corps of Pontonniers stationed in Dordrecht, an engineering unit of the Dutch army which engaged in, among other things, the building of pontoon bridges. The rifle range terrain was later added to the Wantijpark, laid out in 1933-1936 as a public works project.
Description
The wall, laid in red brick in running bond, consists of an arcade of five rendered segmental arches between square wall piers and a rectangular wall remnant on the right side of the arcade.
Valuation
The rifle range wall is of general importance because of its cultural-historical value, ensemble value and rarity value.
