Inleiding.
Aan het einde van een deels langs de westzijde van de kerk lopende toegangslaan ligt een TOEGANGSPOORT van de begraafplaats. Deze poort met een dubbel smeedijzeren hek dateert uit de bouwperiode van de kerk (1923) en is voorzien van heiligenbeelden. Een tweede poort (naar het oosten) is van recente datum (geen monumentale waarde) en is eveneens voorzien van (monumentale) heiligenbeelden.
Omschrijving.
De toegangspoort uit 1923 bevat een monumentaal dubbel hekwerk (waarschijnlijk ontworpen door Wolter te Riele) dat uitgevoerd is in smeedijzer. Het hekwerk bestaat uit in hoogte opklimmende ijzeren spijlen die aan de bovenzijde omgebogen zijn tot een krul en hierdoor op elkaar aansluiten. De spijlen worden bovendien met elkaar verbonden door horizontale ijzeren banden. De onderzijde en uiteinden van het hekwerk zijn ingevuld met een gesloten ijzeren vak. Op de centrale, bredere spijl sluit een kruis aan. Het hekwerk is ingeklemd tussen twee gemetselde hekposten die bekroond worden door een heiligenbeeld. Beide monumentale zandstenen heiligenbeelden zijn later op de posten geplaatst en afkomstig uit het koor van de kerk. Ze zijn uitgevoerd in Beuroner trant. Links is de H. Theresia van Avila verbeeld, rechts staat St. Clara. Naar rechts toe is recentelijk een tweede (niet monumentale) toegang tot het kerkhof gerealiseerd. De gemetselde hekposten zijn ook hier voorzien van een zandstenen beeld dat afkomstig is uit het koor en behoort tot dezelfde reeks als waartoe de reeds genoemde exemplaren behoren. Beide beelden van de H. Norbertus en St. Juliana vallen binnen de bescherming.
Waardering.
De monumentale onderdelen van genoemde objecten zijn van algemeen belang. Ze hebben cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van de rooms-katholieke graf- en beeldhouwcultuur voor wat betreft bestemming en verschijningsvorm. De onderdelen hebben kunsthistorische waarde vanwege het belang voor de iconologie en de geschiedenis van het smeedijzerwerk en de hiermee samenhangende bijzondere detaillering alsmede de iconologie en geschiedenis van het beeldhouwwerk en de daarmee samenhangende detaillering. De onderdelen hebben ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een historisch gegroeid religieus ensemble, voorts bestaande uit de begraafplaats met lijkenhuisje, de kerk, een voormalig klooster en een herdenkingsmonument. De onderdelen zijn van belang wegens de gaafheid en de kunsthistorische zeldzaamheid van de verschijningsvorm.

Introduction.
At the end of an access lane that runs partly along the west side of the church lies an ACCESS GATE to the cemetery. This gate with a double wrought iron gate dates from the building period of the church (1923) and is provided with statues of saints. A second gate (to the east) is of recent date (no monumental value) and is likewise provided with (monumental) statues of saints.
Description.
The access gate from 1923 contains a monumental double ironwork (probably designed by Wolter te Riele) which is executed in wrought iron. The ironwork consists of iron bars ascending in height which are bent at the top into a curl and thereby connect with one another. The bars are moreover connected to one another by horizontal iron bands. The bottom and ends of the ironwork are filled with a closed iron section. On the central, broader bar a cross is attached. The ironwork is clamped between two brick gate posts which are crowned by a statue of a saint. Both monumental sandstone statues of saints were later placed on the posts and come from the choir of the church. They are executed in Beuronese manner. On the left St. Theresa of Avila is depicted, on the right stands St. Clara. To the right a second (non-monumental) entrance to the churchyard was recently realised. The brick gate posts are also here provided with a sandstone statue which comes from the choir and belongs to the same series as the already mentioned examples. Both statues of St. Norbert and St. Juliana are covered by the protection.
Valuation.
The monumental components of the mentioned objects are of general importance. They have cultural-historical value as a distinctive expression of the development of Roman Catholic burial and sculpture culture with regard to purpose and appearance. The components have art-historical value on account of their significance for iconology and the history of wrought ironwork and the associated distinctive detailing as well as the iconology and history of sculpture and the associated detailing. The components have ensemble values as part of a historically developed religious ensemble, further consisting of the cemetery with mortuary chapel, the church, a former convent and a memorial monument. The components are of importance on account of the integrity and the art-historical rarity of the appearance.
