Inleiding
Direct na de ingang van de Algemene Begraafplaats bevindt zich aan de rechterzijde van het centrale pad de sectie Eerste Klasse van de Katholieke afdeling op deze Algemene Begraafplaats. De graven van dit kavel behoren tot de oudste op de BEGRAAFPLAATS en bezitten een hoge cultuurhistorische en kunsthistorische waarde. Belangrijk zijn onder meer de graven van de beeldhouwer J. van der Ven, de zuil van de familie Rouppe van der Voort en de graftombe van de familie Van Meeuwen. Op het kavel bevinden zich verder diverse GRAFMONUMENTEN van uiteenlopende cultuurhistorische en kunsthistorische waarde. De grafschikking op dit kavel is, met uitzondering van de toevoeging van enkele grafmonumenten van meer recente datum, bijzonder gaaf bewaard gebleven.
Omschrijving
Het kavel meet circa 10 bij 20 meter. Binnen het kavel bevindt zich een aantal grafmonumenten, die als complexonderdelen VI, VII en VIII afzonderlijk beschermd worden. Voorts is er nog een aantal andere elementen van belang. Zo ligt aan de zuidzijde van het kavel het grafmonument van de familie De Grez-De Roy van Zuidewijn, waarop een alliantiewapen te zien is. Jonkheer Henricus F. de Grez was, zoals het grafschrift op dit monument aangeeft, 'Commandeur van de Orde van de Eikenkroon' en lid der ridderschap van Noord-Brabant. Voorts een tweetal kindergraven vlakbij de haag langs de St.-Elisabethstraat.
Binnen het kavel vinden we een vrij onregelmatige grafschikking. Zowel aanleg als grafschikking zijn gaaf bewaard gebleven en op een enkele verstoring na nog authentiek.
Waardering
Het complex binnen de Algemene Begraafplaats is van algemeen belang. Het bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van culturele, sociaal-economische en geestelijke ontwikkelingen. De binnen het kavel gelegen grafmonumenten bezitten architectuurhistorische/kunsthistorische waarde vanwege hoogwaardige esthetische kwaliteiten en bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek.
Het complex heeft ensemblewaarde wegens de bijzondere wijze van verkaveling en inrichting en de gaafheid en zeldzaamheid daarvan.

Introduction
Directly after the entrance to the General Cemetery there is located on the right side of the central path the First Class section of the Catholic division on this General Cemetery. The graves of this plot are among the oldest on the CEMETERY and possess a high cultural-historical and art-historical value. Important are among others the graves of sculptor J. van der Ven, the column of the Rouppe van der Voort family and the grave-chamber of the Van Meeuwen family. On the plot there are furthermore various GRAVE MONUMENTS of varied cultural-historical and art-historical value. The grave arrangement on this plot has, with the exception of the addition of some grave monuments of more recent date, been preserved in particularly good condition.
Description
The plot measures approximately 10 by 20 metres. Within the plot there are a number of grave monuments, which as complex components VI, VII and VIII are separately protected. Furthermore there are still a number of other elements of importance. Thus on the south side of the plot lies the grave monument of the De Grez-De Roy van Zuidewijn family, on which an alliances coat of arms can be seen. Jonkheer Henricus F. de Grez was, as the epitaph on this monument indicates, 'Commandeur of the Order of the Oak Crown' and member of the knighthood of North Brabant. Furthermore a pair of children's graves close to the hedge along the St.-Elisabethstraat.
Within the plot we find a fairly irregular grave arrangement. Both layout and grave arrangement have been well preserved and with the exception of a few disturbances remain authentic.
