Inleiding.
FabrikantenWOONHUIS, gebouwd in 1905 in opdracht van de wolhandelaar B.V. Pessers-Daniëls. In de bouwstijl zijn invloeden van Overgangsstijl en Neo-Classicisme herkenbaar.
Omschrijving.
Hoog tweelaags bakstenen pand op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder een hoog, steil, afgeplat schilddak gedekt met leien. Het dak is voorzien van een gootlijst, aan de voorzijde op klossen.
De rechterzijgevel is nagenoeg blind op een nieuwe vluchtdeur met brandtrap na. Twee dakkapellen zijn voorzien van nieuwe kunststof kozijnen. Ertussen is een nieuwe deur aangebracht. De voorgevel telt vier traveeën. De voorgevel heeft een geleding met pilasters, voorzien van een natuurstenen voet en is voorzien van een natuurstenen plint. De ramen hebben afgeronde hoeken en zijn in een natuurstenen omlijsting geplaatst. De kroonlijst is uitgevoerd in zandsteen en voorzien van laag reliëf. Ter hoogte van de verdieping zijn voorstellingen in de natuursteen aangebracht.
In de meest linkse travee bevindt zich het portiek met houten deuren. Daarboven op de eerste verdieping een uitbuikende erker op een console met reliëf.
Tussen de ramen van de begane grond en verdieping reliëfs in zandsteen. De gootlijst heeft een golvende vorm boven de erker. Op het dak is een brede zinken rand met hoekdekoraties aangebracht.
De achtergevel heeft grote vernieuwde ramen, terras- en balkondeuren. De rechterhoek van de achterkant is hoger opgemetseld.
Waardering.
Het pand is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, namelijk de bouw van fabrikantenvilla's in het bestaande stedelijk weefsel en is van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van het fabrikantenwoonhuis.
