Inleiding
Voormalig WOONHUIS uit 1897 in Eclectische stijl, nu kantoor. Het is gebouwd voor de fabrikantenfamilie Janssens-Eras, naar ontwerp van architect H. Bekkers (Tilburg).
Het huis staat op een rechthoekig perceel met de voor- of oostgevel aan de lintbebouwde Gasthuisring en met zijn rechter noord- of zijgevel aan de Philips Vingboonsstraat. Aan de zuidkant van het huis grenst een voormalig koetshuis met een eigen inrit en poort aan de straat. De naastgelegen bijbehorende fabriek is op het einde van de zestiger jaren afgebroken. Achter het huis een eenlaagse uitbouw uit de zeventiger jaren, deze valt buiten de bescherming.
Omschrijving
Het tweelaagse huis met zolderverdieping heeft een gebroken schilddak met steile schilden gedekt met natuurstenen leien. De vijf traveeën brede symmetrische pilastervoorgevel heeft hoek- en twee middenpilasters met ertussen een portiek waarvan het bordes drie traptreden heeft. De ingang heeft een dubbele hardhouten voordeur. Hierboven op de tweede bouwlaag een balkon met eveneens dubbele balkondeuren en op de zolderverdieping een gemetselde dakkapel. Het opgaande werk van de voorgevel bestaat uit rode gebakken strengperssteen op een hardstenen basement, afgewisseld door een hardstenen cordonlijst, een fries en speklagen van gele verblendsteen. Ter plaatse van de pilasters bevinden zich in het fries consoles. De tweedelige schuifvensters zijn twee aan twee gekoppeld en voorzien van een segmentboog in de hardstenen latei. In de bovenlichten bevindt zich glas-in-lood. De vensters van de begane grond hebben rolluiken.
Het hardstenen balkon ligt op voluutvormige consoles. Op de hoeken bevinden zich gietijzeren vazen. De dakkapel heeft een gekoppeld rondboogvenster met een hardstenen bekroning en klauwstukken. De rechterkant van het huis is blind. Aan de linkerzijkant segmentboogvormige vensters en dakkapellen. Het koetshuis heeft een met natuurstenen leien gedekt schilddak. De poort bestaat uit twee smeedijzeren spijlendeuren tussen gemetselde bakstenen pilasters met een hardstenen rand in basement en bekroning.

Introduction
Former DWELLING HOUSE from 1897 in Eclectic style, now office. It was built for the industrialist family Janssens-Eras, according to the design of architect H. Bekkers (Tilburg).
The house stands on a rectangular plot with its front or east facade on the linear built-up Gasthuisring and with its right north or side facade on the Philips Vingboonsstraat. On the south side of the house a former coach house with its own access drive and gate to the street adjoins. The neighbouring associated factory was demolished at the end of the sixties. Behind the house a single-storey extension from the seventies, this falls outside the protection.
Description
The two-storey house with attic storey has a hipped roof with steep hips covered with natural stone slate. The five bays wide symmetrical pilastered front facade has corner and two middle pilasters with between them a portico the steps of which have three risers. The entrance has a double hardwood front door. Above this on the second storey a balcony with likewise double balcony doors and on the attic storey a masoned roof dormer. The facing work of the front facade consists of red fired pressured brick on a sandstone plinth, alternated by a sandstone string course, a frieze and bed courses of yellow ashlar. At the location of the pilasters there are consoles in the frieze. The two-part sash windows are coupled two by two and provided with a segmental arch in the sandstone lintel. In the fanlights there is leaded glass. The windows of the ground floor have roller shutters.
The sandstone balcony rests on volute-shaped consoles. On the corners there are cast-iron urns. The roof dormer has a coupled round-arch window with sandstone coping and klauwstukken. The right side of the house is blank. On the left side segmental arch-shaped windows and roof dormers. The coach house has a hipped roof covered with natural stone slate. The gate consists of two wrought-iron bar doors between masoned brick pilasters with a sandstone edge in plinth and coping.
