Inleiding
Aan de zuidwestelijke zijde van de pleinachtige verbreding van de Kerkstraat staat de voormalige PASTORIE van de St. Caeciliaparochie. Het woonhuis heeft een aangebouwde garage. In oorsprong dateert de pastorie uit 1870. Het pand werd ingrijpend gewijzigd in 1905, toen het aan de zijde van de Kerkstraat werd voorzien van een nieuwe, op de kerk aansluitende gevel. In 1975 is het opnieuw verbouwd.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaagse pand heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond, met een L-vormige uitbouw aan de zuidelijke zijde, telt één bouwlaag plus kapverdieping en wordt gedekt door een zadeldak met oud-Hollandse pannen. Dit is voorzien van een smeedijzeren dakruiter met luidklokje. Tegen de zuidelijke en noordelijke gevel staan schoorstenen. Tegen het westelijke dakschild is waarschijnlijk in 1975 een viertal kleine dakkapellen aangebracht.
Sedert 1905 is de voorgevel aan de Kerkstraat gelegen. Deze gevel is toen vernieuwd in baksteen, wordt verlevendigd met gepleisterde banden, hardstenen druipplint en dorpels, en afgesloten door een gemetseld keperboogfries met geprofileerde houten gootlijst op klossen. In de trommels van de segmentbogen boven alle gevelopeningen mozaïeken met strengperssteen. In de middenrisaliet een vleugelkussenpaneeldeur met smeedijzeren deurroosters, bovenlicht met glas-in-lood panelen en lantaarn. Erboven twee lancetvensters met driedelige ramen, waarboven de topgevel met oculus en nokruiter. Ter rechterzijde van de voordeur een hardstenen brievenbus met opschrift: 'brieven'. Aan weerszijden van de risaliet tweemaal twee achtruits schuifvensters. De gevel heeft aan beide zijden lisenen. Tegen de linker zijgevel staat een eenlaagse aanbouw uit 1905 onder samengesteld L-vormig zadeldak, voorzien van oud-Hollandse pannen. In de gevel aan de zijde van de Kerkstraat twee zesruits schuifvensters, op de verdieping in de door een gemetselde pinakel bekroonde topgevel een derde zesruiter. De achtergevel aan de zijde van de Enschotsebaan heeft een symmetrische indeling, is gepleisterd in blokverband. De licht uitspringende middenrisaliet heeft dezelfde opbouw als die in de voorgevel, met vleugelpaneeldeur en bovenlicht op de begane grond, doch één venster op de verdieping, voorzien van glas-in-lood panelen.
De noordelijke zijgevel is gepleisterd in blokverband en zowel op de begane grond als de eerste verdieping voorzien van twee zesruits schuifvensters. Het pand heeft nog grotendeels de oorspronkelijke indeling met onder meer centrale hal en trap op de begane grond. Van belang zijn onder meer de natuurstenen vloeren en de paneeldeuren.
De L-vormige aanbouw aan de zuidelijke zijde van de pastorie dateert waarschijnlijk uit 1905 en bestaat, naast de hierboven beschreven bijkeuken, uit een koetshuis, waarvan de inrijpoort zich in de westelijke gevel bevindt. Anno 1998 is deze poort gesloten door een tweetal moderne rechtgesloten deuren. In de gevel verder twee zesruits schuifvensters.
Waardering
De pastorie is van algemeen belang. On the southwestern side of the square-like widening of the Kerkstraat stands the former PARSONAGE of the St. Caecilia parish. The residential building has an attached garage. Originally the parsonage dates from 1870. The building underwent major alterations in 1905, when it was provided with a new facade on the side of the Kerkstraat, adjoining the church. In 1975 it was renovated again.
Description
The single-storey building has a rectangular footprint, with an L-shaped extension on the southern side, comprises one storey plus attic storey and is covered by a gabled roof with old-Dutch tiles. This is fitted with a wrought-iron roof ridge ornament with small bell. Chimneys stand against the southern and northern facades. Against the western roof slope, probably in 1975, a number of four small roof dormers were added.
Since 1905 the front facade faces the Kerkstraat. This facade was then renewed in brickwork, is enlivened with plastered bands, hard stone drip moulding and lintels, and closed off by a brick herringbone frieze with profiled wooden cornice on corbels. In the spandrels of the segmental arches above all facade openings mosaics in extruded stone. In the central projection a wing-panel door with wrought-iron door grilles, fanlight with leaded glass panes and lantern. Above it two lancet windows with three-part frames, above which the gable with oculus and ridge ornament. To the right of the front door a hard stone letter box with inscription: 'brieven'. On either side of the projection twice two sash windows with panes. The facade has pilasters on both sides. Against the left side facade stands a single-storey extension from 1905 under composite L-shaped gabled roof, fitted with old-Dutch tiles. In the facade on the Kerkstraat side two six-pane sash windows, on the storey in the gable crowned by a brick pinnacle a third six-pane window. The rear facade on the side of the Enschotsebaan has a symmetrical layout, is plastered in block bond. The slightly projecting central projection has the same composition as that in the front facade, with wing-panel door and fanlight on the ground floor, but one window on the storey, fitted with leaded glass panes.
