Inleiding.
Aan de westelijke zijde van de pleinachtige verbreding van de Kerkstraat staat de langgevelboerderij De Kraan met aangebouwd bakhuis. Blijkens een gevelsteen dateert de boerderij uit 1882.
Omschrijving.
De langgevelboerderij heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond, is eenlaags en wordt gedekt door een zadeldak met oud-Hollandse pannen. Op de nok een schoorsteen tegen de zuidelijke gevel, alsmede een schoorsteen ter hoogte van de brandmuur. In het oostelijke dakschild is een tweetal gietijzeren daklichten aangebracht. De handgevormde stenen voorgevel heeft een bepleisterde plint en wordt afgesloten door een geprofileerde gootlijst met gestuct, beschilderd fries, ter plaatse van het woonhuis voorzien van kleine oculi. De woonhuisgevel heeft een symmetrische indeling met gehoute paneeldeur, voorzien van een bovenlicht, geflankeerd door tweemaal twee zesruits schuifvensters met opgeklampte luiken. In het bedrijfsdeel, waarvan de gevel is voorzien van zware muurankers, een getoogde opgeklampte inrijpoort, geflankeerd door halfcirkelvormige stallichten. Boven de inrijpoort een hardstenen gevelsteen met jaartal "1882". De zijgevel aan de Enschotsebaan is voorzien van een gecementeerde plint, alsmede vlechtingen. Op de begane grond een beluikt zesruits schuifvenster, op de verdieping een tweetal zesruits schuifvensters.
De achtergevel van het woonhuis gaat deels schuil achter het aangebouwde eenlaagse bakhuis. In de handgevormde stenen gevel van rechts naar links een vijfentwintig ruits schuifvenster, een opgeklampte deur met driedelig bovenlicht, een zestienruits schuifvenster, en, schuilgaand achter een houten beschoten aanbouw onder lessenaarsdak met oud-Hollandse pannen, een opgeklampte deur met vierdelig bovenlicht, alsmede een getoogde opgeklampte inrijpoort. De houten aanbouw heeft aan de noordelijke zijde een berghok, afgesloten door een wandje, bestaande uit met riet beschoten rondhouten. De noordelijke zijgevel is gemetseld in een zachtere steensoort dan de straatgevel, is voorzien van vlechtingen en heeft op de begane grond twee halfronde stalvensters, waarboven een opgeklampte deur naar de taszolder, geflankeerd door twee halfronde stalvensters. In de topgevel, die bekroond wordt door een nokruiter, een klein rondlicht. De langgevelboerderij heeft in het woonhuis grotendeels de oorspronkelijke balklagen en indeling, met centrale gang, goeikamer, kelder met troggewelf, en opkamer. In het woonhuis onder meer een marmeren schouw. Het bedrijfsdeel heeft de indeling uit omstreeks 1950 met een grupstal.
Waardering.
De boerderij is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorische waarden als uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de landbouw in de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw en is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarden vanwege het belang voor de geschiedenis van de bouwtechniek. Het is van belang wegens de gaafheid van het exterieur en delen van het interieur.

On the western side of the square-like widening of the Kerkstraat stands the long-gabled farmhouse De Kraan with adjoining bakehouse. According to a stone tablet the farmhouse dates from 1882.
Description.
The long-gabled farmhouse has a rectangular floor plan, is single-storey and is covered by a gabled roof with aged Dutch tiles. On the ridge a chimney against the southern gable, as well as a chimney at the height of the party wall. In the eastern roof slope are two cast-iron roof lights installed. The hand-formed stone front facade has a plastered plinth and is finished with a profiled drip moulding with stuccoed painted frieze, at the location of the dwelling house provided with small oculi. The dwelling house facade has a symmetrical arrangement with a chamfered panelled door, provided with a fanlight, flanked by twice two six-pane sash windows with clamped shutters. In the business section, of which the gable is provided with heavy wall anchors, an arched clamped entrance gate, flanked by semi-circular stable windows. Above the entrance gate a stone tablet with the year "1882". The side gable facing the Enschotsebaan is provided with a cemented plinth, as well as timber frame. On the ground floor a shuttered six-pane sash window, on the first floor two six-pane sash windows.
The rear gable of the dwelling house is partly concealed behind the adjoining single-storey bakehouse. In the hand-formed stone gable from right to left a twenty-five-pane sash window, a clamped door with three-part fanlight, a sixteen-pane sash window, and, concealed behind a wooden boarded extension under a catslip roof with aged Dutch tiles, a clamped door with four-part fanlight, as well as an arched clamped entrance gate. The wooden extension has on the northern side a storage room, separated by a wall consisting of round poles covered with reed. The northern side gable is mortared in a softer stone type than the street facade, is provided with timber frame and has on the ground floor two semi-circular stable windows, above which a clamped door to the hayloft, flanked by two semi-circular stable windows. In the stepped gable, which is crowned by a roof finial, a small round light. The long-gabled farmhouse has in the dwelling house largely the original beam floors and arrangement, with central corridor, parlour, cellar with trough vault, and upper chamber. In the dwelling house among other things a marble fireplace. The business section has the arrangement from around 1950 with a cow stall.
Valuation.
The farmhouse is of general importance. The building has cultural historical values as an expression of the socio-economic development of agriculture in the second half of the nineteenth century and is also of importance for the typological development.
