Inleiding
WOONHUIS in Eclectische stijl uit ca. 1885. Het huis ligt op een rechthoekig perceel en maakt onderdeel uit van de Willem II straat.
Omschrijving.
Het symmetrische huis heeft twee bouwlagen met een mezzanino. Het wordt gedekt door een zadeldak voorzien van grijze opnieuw verbeterde Hollandse pannen. Het opgaande werk bestaat uit rode handgevormde baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband. De vijf traveeën brede voorgevel, wordt afgesloten door een kroon- en tandlijst, hij heeft een cementen plint, een cordonlijst en een fries met daarin acht consoles. Beide bouwlagen hebben getoogde muuropeningen met afgeronde bovenhoeken. Ze zijn voorzien van geprofileerde stuclijsten met een kuif- en zijversiering. De voordeur in de middelste travee wordt geflankeerd door twee schuifvensters. Op de verdieping bevinden zich vijf schuifvensters. In de bovenlichten lichtgroen getint glas-in-lood. De mezzanino bevat in de fries boven de vijf vensters sleufvormige vensterlichten.

Het huis is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van een sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, namelijk de aanleg van nieuwe stedenbouwkundige structuren in het kader van de bloei van de industriestad, het is van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van het herenhuis. Description
The symmetrical house has two storeys with a mezzanine. It is covered by a gabled roof fitted with grey newly improved Dutch tiles. The masonry consists of red hand-formed bricks laid in common bond. The five-bay-wide front facade is terminated by a cornice and dentil moulding, it has a cement plinth, a string course and a frieze with eight consoles in it. Both storeys have arched wall openings with rounded upper corners. They are fitted with moulded stucco lintels with cyma and side ornamentation. The front door in the middle bay is flanked by two sash windows. On the upper storey there are five sash windows. In the fanlights light green tinted leaded glass. The mezzanine contains in the frieze above the five windows slot-shaped window lights.
Valuation
The house is of general interest.
