Inleiding
De MUUR van het voormalige R.K. KLOOSTER Notre Dame du Perpétuel Secours, thans genaamd "De Rendierhoeve', werd kort na 1903 door abt Verbruggen van de nabij gelegen abdij Koningshoeven gebouwd.
Omschrijving
Het rechthoekige kloosterterrein is omgeven door een droge gracht en bakstenen muurwerk, met een lengte van ongeveer 700 meter en een hoogte van ruim twee meter. Het metselwerk is voorzien van een ezelsrug en lisenen met afzaten. Op regelmatige afstand staan bakstenen pijlers.
Waardering
De muur maakt deel uit van een complex van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarden als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van het katholicisme, met name de huisvesting van, elders verdreven kloosterlingen als gevolg van de wetten van Combes; het is tevens van belang als onderdeel van het slotklooster voor vrouwelijke religieuzen. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarden vanwege de gebruikte sobere, gotiserende vormentaal. Het heeft ensemblewaarden wegens de hoogwaardige kwaliteit van de bebouwing en de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met het nabij gelegen klooster Koningshoeven. Het is van belang wegens de typologische en functionele zeldzaamheid van een slotklooster uit de periode rond 1900.

The WALL of the former R.C. CONVENT Notre Dame du Perpétuel Secours, now called "De Rendierhoeve", was built shortly after 1903 by abbot Verbruggen of the nearby abbey Koningshoeven.

The rectangular convent grounds are surrounded by a dry ditch and brick masonry, with a length of approximately 700 metres and a height of just over two metres. The masonry is provided with an ogee moulding and pilaster strips with weathering. At regular intervals brick piers are positioned.
Valuation
The wall forms part of a complex of general importance. It has cultural-historical values as a distinctive expression of the development of Catholicism, in particular the housing of persecuted religious from elsewhere as a result of the Combes laws; it is also of importance as a component of the enclosed convent for female religious. It has architectural-historical values because of the restrained, gothicising vocabulary of forms employed. It has ensemble values due to the high quality of the built heritage and the historical-spatial relationship with the nearby convent Koningshoeven. It is of importance because of the typological and functional rarity of an enclosed convent from around 1900.
