Inleiding
Voormalig KOETSHUIS annex WONING en PAARDENSTAL uit 1883 in Eclectische stijl van de Tilburgse lakenfabrikant Johannes Diepen naar ontwerp van de Tilburgse architect W.F.J.H. Bouman. In 1997 in gebruik als kantoor.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaagse koetshuis met hooizolderverdieping en gedeeltelijk onderkelderd wordt gedekt door een schilddak met plat voorzien van rensdakleien. Het heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond. De muuropeningen hebben segmentbogen. De koetsdeuren zijn vervangen door een glazen pui. In de oost- en zuidgevel bevinden zich twee dakkapellen oorspronkelijk met hooideuren, nu met ramen. Het opgaande werk bestaat uit schoonmetselwerk in een paars/rode baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband afgewisseld door speklagen van gele baksteen en een zwartgeschilderde cementen plint. In de segmentbogen en keperboogfries zijn drie kleuren baksteen verwerkt. Het interieur van het koetshuis annex woning en paardenstal is grotendeels authentiek. De stal, bestemd voor drie paarden, bevat smeedijzeren ruiven, hardstenen voerbakken en hooiluik in het gemetselde plafond tussen I-profielbalken. Vanuit de paardenstal een eikenhouten spiltrap naar de zolderverdieping.
Waardering
Het koetshuis annex paardenstal als onderdeel van het complex heeft algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van een sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, namelijk de bouw van rijk gedetailleerde fabrikantenwoningen en kantoren met bijgebouwen binnen de bestaande stedelijke structuur en is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het koetshuis. Description
The single-storey carriage house with hay loft storey and partially cellared is covered by a hipped roof with flat surface laid with Spanish roof tiles. It has a rectangular floor plan. The wall openings have segmental arches. The carriage doors have been replaced by a glazed storefront. In the east and south gables there are two roof pediments originally with hay doors, now with windows. The masonry consists of fair-faced brickwork in purple/red brick laid in bond alternating with stretcher courses of yellow brick and a blackpainted cement plinth. The stable, designed for three horses, contains wrought-iron mangers, hardstone feed troughs and hay hatch in the brick ceiling between I-profile beams. From the horse stable an oak spiral staircase leads to the loft storey.
