Inleiding
Het beeld van Maria Onbevlekt Ontvangen, tevens patrones van de kerk, werd vervaardigd in opdracht van de parochianen en aan pastoor H. van de Veerdonk aangeboden ter gelegenheid van diens veertigjarig priesterjubileum in 1924.
Het beeld werd vervaardigd door de Eindhovense beeldhouwer J. Custers die samen met zijn broer F. Custers omstreeks 1895 in Eindhoven een atelier voor kerkelijke kunst oprichtte. Het beeld is naar de kerk gericht.
Omschrijving
Uit kalksteen vervaardigd beeld, voorstellende een staande Maria Immaculata met de handen gevouwen voor de borst. Maria staat op een halve bol met aan haar voeten een slang die een appel in de mond heeft. Rechts op de bol een maansikkel. Rond het hoofd van Maria een gebeeldhouwde krans van rozen. Achter haar hoofd een smeedijzeren nimbus. Het gehele beeld staat op een samengesteld voetstuk met opschrift 'Geheel schoon zijt gij / Maria en de smet / der erfzonde is niet in U'. Het beeld is aan de rechterzijde op het voetstuk gesigneerd 'J. Custers'. Het beeld staat op een bakstenen kolom met voluutvormige steunberen die aansluiten op een bakstenen ronde rand rondom het monument. De steunberen zijn op de uiteinden voorzien van een geprofileerd kalkstenen blok waarop een eveneens uit kalksteen vervaardigde vaas.
Waardering
Het Mariabeeld is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een culturele, sociaal-economische en geestelijke ontwikkeling welke zichtbaar is in de bewaard gebleven structuur van landschap en bebouwing. Het heeft kunsthistorische waarden wegens de stijl en als voorbeeld van het werk van het atelier Custers. Het heeft ensemblewaarde als deel van een complex, dat tevens van belang is wegens de historisch-ruimtelijke waarden die tot uiting komen in de samenhang van de functies van de bebouwing, de schaal en de relatie met de open ruimten. Het is bovendien van belang vanwege de gaafheid en de samenhang met het gehele ensemble.

Description
An image made of limestone, representing a standing Mary Immaculate with her hands folded before her breast. Mary stands on a half sphere with at her feet a serpent that has an apple in its mouth. On the right of the sphere a crescent moon. Around the head of Mary a sculptured wreath of roses. Behind her head a wrought iron nimbus. The entire image stands on a composite pedestal with inscription 'Wholly pure are you / Mary and the stain / of original sin is not in you'. The image is signed on the right side on the pedestal 'J. Custers'. The image stands on a brick column with volute-shaped buttresses which connect to a brick circular border around the monument. The buttresses are at the ends provided with a profiled limestone block on which a vase also made of limestone.
Valuation
The Mary image is of general interest. It has cultural-historical value as an expression of a cultural, socio-economic and spiritual development which is visible in the preserved structure of landscape and buildings. It has art-historical values because of the style and as an example of the work of the Custers studio. It has ensemble value as part of a complex, which is also of importance because of the historical-spatial values expressed in the coherence of the functions of the buildings, the scale and the relationship with the open spaces. It is moreover of importance because of its integrity and coherence with the entire ensemble.
