Inleiding
Het gebouwtje met POMP- EN LABORATORIUMRUIMTE uit 1937 met elementen van het Nieuwe Bouwen bevindt zich langs de hoofdverbindingsas van het terrein, ten oosten van het bezinkbassin en staat haaks op de vetvanger. Het diende een tweeledig doel, namelijk het verpompen van het water uit de vetvanger naar de (inmiddels geamoveerde) meetgoot em om chemische proeven te nemen.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaagse gebouwtje onder plat dak heeft een rechthoekig grondplan. Het is opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen. Het wordt in twee ongelijke delen verdeeld door een ruime onderdoorgang. De toegangsdeuren tot beide ruimten bevinden zich aan de binnenzijde van de onderdoorgang. Het linker en kleinste gedeelte omvat de pompruimte en het rechter gedeelte de laboratoriumruimte. In het linker gedeelte van de voorgevel is een rechtgesloten venster met ijzeren roedenraam met klapraam aangebracht. In het rechter gedeelte zijn twee rechtgesloten vensters met ijzeren roedenramen met klapraam aangebracht. In de westelijke gevel is een rechtgesloten venster met ijzeren roedenraam aangebracht. In het laboratoriumgedeelte van de noordgevel zijn twee rechtgesloten vensters met ijzeren roedenramen met klapraam aangebracht. Evenals in het rioolgemaal het geval is, zijn de wanden van de pompruimte betegeld (evenwel hier met witte muurtegels), is de vloer belegd met rode plavuizen en bestaan de plinten uit zwarte, in de hoek geronde tegels. Hier staat de elektrische motor opgesteld, die is verbonden met de centrifugaalpomp in de lage kelderruimte. Het keldergat is omhekt door een ijzeren balustrade. De laboratoriumruimte is op eenzelfde wijze betegeld als de pompruimte.
Waardering.
Het object is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een pioniersfase in de rioolwaterzuivering. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van het Nieuwe Bouwen. Exterieur en interieur zijn nog gaaf en herkenbaar bewaard gebleven. De samenhang met de andere voorgedragen objecten maakt de procesgang inzichtelijk.

The small building with PUMP AND LABORATORY SPACE from 1937 with elements of the Nieuwe Bouwen is located along the main circulation axis of the site, to the east of the settling basin and stands at right angles to the grease trap. It served a dual purpose, namely the pumping of water from the grease trap to the (now removed) measuring channel and to conduct chemical tests.
Description
The single-storey building under a flat roof has a rectangular floor plan. It is built of machine-made brick. It is divided into two unequal parts by a spacious passage. The access doors to both rooms are located on the inside of the passage. The left and smaller section comprises the pump room and the right section the laboratory room. In the left section of the front facade is a right-angled window with iron glazing bars and pivot window. In the right section are two right-angled windows with iron glazing bars and pivot windows. In the western gable is a right-angled window with iron glazing bars. In the laboratory section of the north gable are two right-angled windows with iron glazing bars and pivot windows. As in the case of the pumping station, the walls of the pump room are tiled (however here with white wall tiles), the floor is laid with red tiles and the skirting boards consist of black tiles, rounded at the corner. Here the electric motor is installed, which is connected to the centrifugal pump in the low cellar room. The cellar opening is fenced by an iron balustrade. The laboratory room is tiled in the same manner as the pump room.
Valuation.
The object is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as an expression of a pioneering phase in sewage water treatment. It has architectural-historical value as an expression of the Nieuwe Bouwen. Exterior and interior have been carefully preserved intact and recognisably.
