Inleiding
HOUTSCHUUR behorende bij het in de jaren 1936-1937 in opdracht van James van Hoey Smith aangelegde complex landgoed Strypemonde. De schuur staat ten noordwesten van het landhuis in een veld met bijzondere boomsoorten.
Omschrijving
De bij het huis staande, vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond in hout opgetrokken houtschuur staat onder een met riet gedekt wolfdak met gesmoorde vorstpannen op de nok. Alle vier gevels zijn vervaardigd van met enige tussenruimte van elkaar geplaatst, staande boomstammen. De schuur heeft een rechtgesloten gevelopening in één van de kopgevels, terwijl de gevelopening in de andere kopgevel is getoogd. Beide zijn niet voorzien van een deur. Tegen beide langsgevels staat een uitbouw onder lessenaardak, die aansluit onder de dakvoet van het wolfdak.

De houtschuur is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische en de ensemblewaarde.

Description
The wood store standing next to the house, erected in wood from a rectangular floor plan, stands under a reed-thatched half-hipped roof with swept ridge tiles on the ridge. All four facades are made of freestanding tree trunks placed at some distance from one another. The store has a straight-closed gable opening in one of the end gables, while the gable opening in the other end gable is arched. Both are not provided with a door. Against both side facades stands an outbuilding under a lean-to roof, which joins below the eaves line of the half-hipped roof.
