Inleiding
PONYSTAL met bijbehorende kleine HOOIBERG, gebouwd in de jaren 1936-1937 in opdracht van James van Hoey Smith naar ontwerp van de architect J.W. Janzen. De ponystal met hooiberg maakt onderdeel uit van het complex Landgoed Strypemonde en is aan de rand van de grote weide op een kleine open plek in het bos gesitueerd.
Omschrijving
De ponystal is opgetrokken in hout op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder een met riet gedekt schilddak met gesmoorde nokvorsten. Beide langsgevels zijn voorzien van een rechtgesloten venster met kruisraam, terwijl in één van deze gevels bovendien een uit een boven- en een onderdeur samengestelde deur staat.
Eén van de kopgevels is voorzien van een stel openslaande deuren. Ook deze deuren zijn samengesteld uit een boven- en een onderdeur. De andere kopgevel bevat een reeks van drie, door smalle penanten van elkaar gescheiden vensters met kruisraam. Inwendig is de stalindeling met elementen als ruiven, nog geheel aanwezig.
De bijbehorende kleine vierroeden hooiberg heeft betonnen steekroeden en een met riet gedekte kap.

Description
The pony stable is constructed in wood on a rectangular plan under a hipped roof thatched with reed and featuring closed roof ridges. Both long facades are provided with a straight-sided window with cross windows, while in one of these facades there is also a door composed of an upper and lower door.
One of the gable ends is provided with a pair of opening doors. These doors too are composed of an upper and lower door. The other gable end contains a series of three cross windows separated from each other by narrow pilasters. Internally the stable layout with elements such as mangers is still completely present.
