Inleiding
Voormalige windmolen genaamd Kepelse Meule. De molenromp (benedenbouw) dateert uit 1882. Na de eeuwwisseling werd de molen enkele meters verhoogd om zodoende een betere windvang te verkrijgen. In 1929 werden kap en wieken verwijderd.
Omschrijving
Molengebouw bestaande uit een bakstenen molenromp op een brede ronde basis naar boven versmallend. Opbouw van na de eeuwwisseling eveneens in baksteen en cilindervormig. Metselwerk in kruisverband. Toegang tot de molen in een aangebouwd bolvormig bakstenen bouwdeel met hierin een rechthoekige houten poort. Afgeplat houten schilddak.
Aan weerszijden van de poort bakstenen steunberen.
Molenromp met segmentboogvormige en rondboogvormige houten vensters.
Van het INTERIEUR is onder meer het volgende van belang.
De elektrische graanmaalderij uit 1931 is nagenoeg in tact aanwezig. Een dubbele houten maalstoel met een koppel 17-er blauwe Duitse maalstenen. Houten silo's voor graanopslag; zeefmachines; hefinrichtingen; systeem met houten bakken voor doorvoer van graan en meel.
Waardering
De molenromp bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een economisch-historische en technische ontwikkeling.
De molenromp met de graanmaalderij met de nieuwe voorzieningen die in de loop der jaren zijn doorgevoerd betreft een uniek stuk industrieel erfgoed en geeft een goede indruk van de molenevolutie. De in de molen aanwezige graanmaalderij kan mede door zijn zeldzaamheidswaarde beschouwd worden als een industrieel-archeologisch relict van nationaal belang.
De molenromp en m.n. het interieur zijn van algemeen belang wegens de hoge mate van typologische en functionele zeldzaamheid.
