Op de R.K. begraafplaats van Ravenstein gesitueerd, naamloos en ongedateerd GRAFKRUIS (ca. 1900).
Omschrijving
Het opengewerkte gietijzeren grafkruis is gesteld op een kunststenen basementje. Op het kruis is de voorstelling van de doop in de Jordaan afgebeeld.
Waardering
Het object is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de stijl en als voorbeeld van een gietijzeren grafkruis. The object is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of social and spiritual development, in particular the development of Catholic burial culture. It has architectural-historical value because of the style and as an example of a cast-iron funerary cross. As part of a cemetery located on the old fortification grounds of the town, it has ensemble value as part of a larger whole that is of cultural-historical, architectural-historical and urban-planning importance.
