Inleiding
WERFTERREIN met vier HELLINGEN, als onderdeel van de scheepswerf. De scheepswerf dateert globaal uit 1750, maar heeft later diverse wijzigingen ondergaan, de grootste afgestemd op de ontwikkeling van een nieuw type botter, na 1829. De werf vertoont in zijn huidige verschijningsvorm met de meeste onderdelen een overwegend 19de eeuws karakter. De werf is in 1992 gekocht door de gemeente Bunschoten en werd tussen 1996-1998 gerestaureerd.
Omschrijving
Het negentiende eeuwse WERFTERREIN met vier HELLINGEN is gesitueerd aan de zuidzijde van het complex, in de knik van de Oude Haven. Het werfterrein wordt aan de noord-, oost- en westzijde ingesloten door bebouwing. De kade is uitgevoerd met een houten beschoeiing. De zuidoostelijk gelegen, kleinste helling dateert uit eerste helft 19de eeuw en ligt voor de Rode Loods. Haaks hierop liggen de overige drie hellingen die stammen uit tweede helft van de 19de eeuw. De hellingen bestaan elk uit een bed met houten plankiers. Hierop is een koolteerlaag aangebracht die is ingestrooid met gebroken schelpen. De hierop aangebrachte houten sleden zijn aan de hooggelegen zijden voorzien van een stalen blok.
Een deel van het werfterrein is verhard met een klinkerbestrating, een ander deel met leem, grind en scheepsrestanten.
Op het werfterrein is een kaapstander geplaatst: een windas waarmee door middel van paarden de schepen op de helling getrokken werden. Het bijbehorende juk functioneert als onderdeel van de branderstelling: de plaats waar planken werden gekromd.
Waardering
Het werfterrein met de hellingen zijn van algemeen belang vanwege architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde als gaaf en zeldzaam voorbeeld van een negentiende eeuws werfterrein met hellingen met houten plankiers. Description
The nineteenth century SHIPYARD SITE with four SLIPWAYS is situated on the south side of the complex, in the bend of the Oude Haven. The shipyard site is enclosed on the north, east and west sides by buildings. The quay is constructed with a timber revetment. The smallest slipway, located in the southeast, dates from the first half of the 19th century and lies in front of the Rode Loods. Perpendicular to this lie the other three slipways which date from the second half of the 19th century. The slipways each consist of a bed with wooden planks. A coal tar layer has been applied to this, strewn with broken shells. The wooden sledges placed on this are fitted with a steel block at the raised sides.
Part of the shipyard site is surfaced with brick paving, another part with loam, gravel and ship remains.
