The register's description

Inleiding.

Introduction.

The VILLA OOSTERHEIDE was built in 1909 according to plans by architect J. Oomen Pz. in circa 1800 style on behalf of the Belgian Karel J.C. Delcourt van Krimpen and is surrounded by a large garden, the remainder of the former associated estate Oosterheide. It was extended in 1916 and 1919.

Description.

The driveway with American oaks is preceded by an iron gate with pilasters topped with ornamental vases and the name of the property. The two-storey building comprises four bays. The front facade is dominated by a tall tower and a polygonal bay window in the right-hand corner. The facades are plastered, painted white and fitted with ornamental anchors. The gabled roof is covered with black Thuja tiles. On the left are on ground and first floor respectively two twenty-pane sash windows with shutters. Next the entrance with double doors with small glazing bars and a semicircular fanlight, above which is a rectangular balcony with double doors. To the right of this the round tower, furnished with three six-pane windows with shutters and a conical pointed roof with slates in Maas bond and an iron weather vane. The large five-sided bay window has windows with small glazing bars and an ornamental balustrade from which a door opens. The right-hand side facade has opening garden doors, a twenty-pane sash window with shutters on the upper storey and a nine-pane attic window. The gable ends as a stepped gable and this is accentuated by a brick pinnacle with spout and artificial stone final and brick coping of the steps. The left-hand side facade is virtually blank except for one twenty-pane sash window with shutters and two attic windows. The top gable has brick coping and the ridge is furnished with a final. The rear facade has on the right and left a small single-storey extension under a flat roof. These date from the period of construction and are furnished with sash windows as elsewhere in the building. On the right there is also a twenty-pane shuttered sash window, on the upper floor above the extensions each a fifteen-pane. In the middle a lengthy window with small glazing bars has been placed. The interior still preserves intact components such as the hall and staircase from the period of construction.
