Inleiding.
BEELDENGROEP van de H. Familie, in Neogotische stijl, geplaatst tegen de zuidzijde van de kerk, onder een eenvoudig afdak. Vermoedelijk ontwerp van het atelier Cuypers uit Roermond.
Omschrijving.
Op een bakstenen voetstuk onder een afdakje geplaatste groep, vervaardigd uit kalksteen, ongepolychromeerd met in goud uitgevoerde sierbanden. De groep bestaat uit de staande figuren van Maria, het kind Jezus en Jozef, gekleed in ruim vallende gewaden met neogotische plooien. Maria legt haar hand op de schouder van Jezus, die zijn hand opheft in spreekgebaar. Jozef draagt in zijn hand een staf. Het Jezuskind mist een hand.
Waardering.
De beeldengroep is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als markant voorbeeld van het uitdragen van het katholieke gedachtengoed aan de bezoekers van het kerkhof. Placed on a brick plinth under a roof shelter, a group executed in limestone, unpolychrome with ornamental bands executed in gold. The group consists of standing figures of Mary, the Christ Child and Joseph, dressed in loosely falling robes with Neo-Gothic folds. Mary places her hand on the shoulder of Jesus, who raises his hand in a speaking gesture. Joseph carries a staff in his hand. The Christ Child is missing one hand.
Valuation.
The sculpture group is of general importance because of its cultural-historical value as a striking example of the dissemination of Catholic thought to the visitors of the churchyard.
