Inleiding.
De VIJVER is aangelegd in 1930 en vertoont in het metselwerk en de terrassen Traditioneel-Ambachtelijke vormen.
Omschrijving.
De rechthoekige vijver heeft in het midden een eenvoudige fontein en wordt omgeven door een terrasvormige aanleg met muurtjes van baksteen in een staand verband, aan de bovenzijde voorzien van een rollaag. Rondom de vijver is gras aangelegd, omringd door een laag bakstenen muurtje. Aan de zijde van de muziektent wordt de vijver afgesloten door een ca. 50 cm. hoge bakstenen plantenbak, waarin twee kalkstenen waterspuwende leeuwekopjes en een gedenksteen uit 1944, ter gelegenheid van de bevrijding van Oisterwijk, zijn ingemetseld. Aan weerszijden van deze plantenbak leidt een betegeld en ommuurd pad naar de muziektent. Dit pad strekt zich uit over twee niveaus, verbonden door lage, uit twee treden bestaande trapjes.
Waardering.
Het object is van algemeen belang en bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als illustratie van de denkbeelden in het Interbellum omtrent de aankleding van de openbare ruimte in dorpen. Het object bezit ensemblewaarden: de vijver vormt een essentieel onderdeel van het dorpsplein en is van belang vanwege de relatie met de historische groenvoorzieningen.

The rectangular pond has a simple fountain in the centre and is surrounded by a terraced layout with small brick walls in a stretcher bond, provided at the top with a roll course. Grass is laid around the pond, surrounded by a low brick wall. On the side of the bandstand, the pond is closed off by an approximately 50 cm high brick planter, in which two limestone water-spouting lion heads and a memorial stone from 1944, on the occasion of the liberation of Oisterwijk, are set into the masonry. On either side of this planter, a tiled and walled path leads to the bandstand. This path extends over two levels, connected by low staircases consisting of two steps.
Valuation.
The object is of general importance and possesses cultural-historical value as an illustration of the ideas in the Interwar period concerning the furnishing of public space in villages.
