Op het R.K. kerkhof van de H. Clemens te Nuenen gelegen PASTOORSGRAF van Wilhelmus Petrus van Lent, circa 1879.
Omschrijving
Hardstenen tombe met op de dekplaat een los opgelegd natuurstenen kruis. Onder op de dekplaat in een cirkel-vormige uitsparing in hoogreliëf een afbeelding van de deugden Geloof, Hoop en Liefde. Daarboven de inscriptie: "Hier rust de weleerwaarde heer Wilhelmus Petrus van Lent / geboren te Lithoyen / den 19 mei 1805 / overleden te Nuenen / den 28 mei 1879 / Bijna 40 jaren pastoor dezer parochie".
Waardering
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van het pastoorsgraf. Description
Hardstone tomb with a loose-laid natural stone cross placed on the cover slab. On the underside of the cover slab, in a circular recess in high relief, an image of the virtues Faith, Hope and Charity. Above this the inscription: "Here rests the venerable Wilhelmus Petrus van Lent / born at Lithoyen / on 19 May 1805 / died at Nuenen / on 28 May 1879 / Nearly 40 years vicar of this parish".
Valuation
The grave monument is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a social and spiritual development, in particular the development of Catholic grave culture, and is also significant for the typological development of the pastor's grave. It has art-historical significance as an example of neo-gothic grave culture with adapted neo-medieval detailing and symbolism.
