Inleiding
De BEGRAAFPLAATS van het voormalige Missiehuis St. Franciscus Xaverius is in 1927 in gebruik genomen en ligt ten noord-oosten van de kapel, aan het eind van een lange beukenlaan. Het kruisbeeld dateert ook uit die tijd, de kruiswegstaties aan de buitenrand zijn van recente datum en vallen buiten de Rijksbescherming.
Omschrijving
Het rechthoekige terrein wordt doorsneden door een middenpad, dat leidt naar een Calvarieberg met houten kruis en Corpus uit ca.
1930. Langs het pad bevinden zich rijen van telkens vier kruisen.
De kruisen zijn van gietijzer en hebben een eenvoudige, Neo- gotische vorm. Het oudste dateert uit 1927, hieronder rust broeder Christophorus Knaub, in leven kok van het missiehuis.
Waardering
De begraafplaats is van algemeen belang. Zij maakt deel uit van een complex van cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de ontwikkeling van het katholicisme, in het bijzonder de stichting van kloosters en missiehuizen door congregaties ten behoeve van de opleiding van hun leden. The CEMETERY of the former Mission House St. Franciscus Xaverius was put into use in 1927 and lies to the north-east of the chapel, at the end of a long avenue of beech trees. The crucifix also dates from that time, the Stations of the Cross at the outer edge are of recent date and fall outside the national monument protection.
Description
The rectangular site is crossed by a central path, which leads to a Calvary with wooden cross and Corpus from circa 1930. Along the path there are rows of four crosses each.
The crosses are of cast iron and have a simple, Neo-Gothic form. The oldest dates from 1927, beneath it rests Brother Christophorus Knaub, in life cook of the mission house.
Valuation
The cemetery is of general importance. It forms part of a complex of cultural-historical importance as an example of the development of Catholicism, in particular the foundation of cloisters and mission houses by congregations for the training of their members.
