Inleiding
Het voorplein van de reeds beschermde R.K. Laurentiuskerk van Ginneken, monumentnummer 10146, wordt aan de westelijke zijde begrensd door een HEKWERK met PLANTSOEN, waarin geplaatst een HEILIG HARTBEELD. Het object is tot stand gekomen naar een ontwerp in 1926. Het beeld is van de hand van Auguste Falise en werd gegoten te Brussel.
Omschrijving
Het kerkplein wordt aan de westelijke zijde van de openbare weg gescheiden door een smeedijzeren hekwerk, geplaatst op een bakstenen sokkel, voorzien van een hardstenen afdeklijst. Aan de zuidelijke en noordelijke zijde is het hek voorzien van een vleugelpoort, waardoor het kerkplein betreden kan worden. Deze poorten worden geflankeerd door bakstenen pijlers.
Direct aan het hekwerk grenst, aan de oostelijke zijde, een plantsoen, omgeven door een natuurstenen rand, waarin centraal een marmeren achtzijdige sokkel staat, eenmaal versneden, op een bordes, bereikbaar via drie treden. Het bordes wordt door vier, haaks op de sokkel aangebrachte marmeren plantenbakken in kwarten verdeeld. Tegen de oostelijke zijde van de opstand is een glazen gedenkplaat aangebracht, waarop in gouden letters tegen een fel rood fond de tekst: "Opgericht / door den Zeer Eerw. Heer / Pastoor A.H. v. Dijk / overl. 11 April 1926 / onthuld / door den Zeer Eerw. Heer / Pastoor G.J.K. v.
Wees / Ginneken 25 / Juli / 1926." Kleine delen van de plaquette ontbreken. Op de sokkel staat een bronzen Heilig Hart beeld met nimbus, blijkens de signatuur vervaardigd door "Aug. Falise, 1926". In het beeld tevens de inscriptie: "Fon.rie Nat.le Des Bronzes / J. Petermann / St.Gilles-Bruxelles".

Introduction
The forecourt of the already protected R.C. Laurentius Church of Ginneken, monument number 10146, is bordered on the western side by a FENCE with PLANTED AREA, in which is placed a SACRED HEART STATUE. The object was created following a design in 1926. The statue is by Auguste Falise and was cast in Brussels.
Description
The church square is separated on the western side of the public road by a wrought-iron fence, placed on a brick base, provided with a limestone coping. On the southern and northern side the fence is provided with a wing gate, by which the church square can be entered. These gates are flanked by brick pillars.
Directly adjoining the fence, on the eastern side, is a planted area, surrounded by a natural stone edge, in which centrally stands an octagonal marble base, once cut, on a platform, accessible via three steps. The platform is divided into quarters by four marble plant boxes placed perpendicular to the base. Against the eastern side of the pedestal is a glass memorial plaque, on which in golden letters against a bright red background is the text: "Erected / by the Very Reverend / Pastor A.H. v. Dijk / died 11 April 1926 / unveiled / by the Very Reverend / Pastor G.J.K. v. Wees / Ginneken 25 / July / 1926." Small parts of the plaque are missing. On the base stands a bronze Sacred Heart statue with nimbus, according to the signature made by "Aug. Falise, 1926". In the statue also the inscription: "Fon.rie Nat.le Des Bronzes / J. Petermann / St.Gilles-Brussels".
