Inleiding.
R.K. PASTORIE van de parochie H.Petrus Banden in Traditionalistische baksteenstijl uit 1937 naar ontwerp van architect J. Vervest en ir. J. van Buytenen. De architectuur is geinspireerd door het werk van architect Kropholler. De kerk in dezelfde architectuurvormen ligt westelijk van de pastorie. De voor- of zuidgevel ligt aan de Dorpsstraat.
Omschrijving.
De pastorie bestaat uit twee gedeelten: de hoge hoofdbouw en oostelijk hiervan een terugliggende lage zijbouw. Beide zijn eenlaags en voorzien van zadeldaken met de nok parallel aan elkaar, gedekt met oud-Hollandse pannen.
De daken liggen tussen tuitgevels met een rondvenster in de top. Tussen kerk en pastorie een eenlaagse aanbouw onder platdak. De voorgevel van de hoofdbouw is op de begane grond vijf en op de verdieping drie traveeën breed. Voordeur met portiek. Op de begane grond kruisvensters en op de verdieping twee vijfdelige vensters.
In de achterste tuitgevel van de hoofdbouw een klokkestoel met luidklokje.
De voorgevel van de zijbouw heeft op de begane grond een getoogd venster.
Het opgaande werk bestaat uit handgevormde kloostermoppen gemetseld in wild verband. Gemetselde schansmuur met ezelsrug als erfafscheiding.
Waardering.
De pastorie met tuinmuur is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van het katholicisme in het zuiden en de vorming van kerkdorpen, in het bijzonder de stichting en uitgroei van een bedevaartsplaats. Het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de dorpspastorie. Het heeft architectuurhistorisch belang door de aan de landelijke context aangepaste stijl en de detaillering en is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van het oeuvre van de architecten Vervest en Van Buytenen. Description.
The parsonage consists of two parts: the high main building and to the east of it a recessed low side wing. Both are single-storey and provided with gabled roofs with the ridge running parallel to each other, covered with old Dutch tiles.
The roofs lie between spout gables with a round window at the top. Between church and parsonage a single-storey extension under flat roof. The front façade of the main building is five bays wide on the ground floor and three bays wide on the upper storey. Front door with porch. On the ground floor cross windows and on the upper storey two five-part windows.
In the rear spout gable of the main building a bell-cote with small ringing bell.
The front façade of the side wing has an arched window on the ground floor.
The walls consist of handmade monastery bricks laid in random bond. Mortared scarp wall with saddle-back top as boundary wall.
Valuation.
The parsonage with garden wall is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical significance as a particular expression of the development of Catholicism in the south and the formation of church villages, in particular the establishment and growth of a pilgrimage site. It is also significant as an example of the typological development of the village parsonage. It has architectural-historical significance through the style adapted to the rural context and the detailing, and is also significant as an example of the oeuvre of architects Vervest and Van Buytenen.
