Inleiding
Voormalige TEXTIELFABRIEK, gebouwd in 1891. Na brand werd het gebouw in zijn oorspronkelijke vorm hersteld. Thans doet het gebouw dienst als bedrijfsmuseum van Philips.

Het pand heeft een samengestelde bakstenen bouwmassa op een in grote lijnen rechthoekige plattegrond.
Aan de straatzijde bevinden zich twee éénlaags blokvormige bouwmassa's, het meest links gelegen gedeelte is voorzien van een dubbel zadeldak, gedekt met kruispannen. Het rechtergedeelte heeft een schilddak, gedekt met verbeterde Hollandse pannen. Tussen deze twee delen is een ingang aanwezig. Ervoor is een ronde fabrieksschoorsteen geplaatst. Achter boven beschreven gedeelte ligt een hal onder plat dak, in het midden voorzien van lichtkappen. Vensters en deuren zijn vernieuwd.
Waardering
Het voormalige fabrieksgebouw, thans als museum deel uitmakend van de Philipsgebouwen aan de Emmasingel is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de nijverheid, in het bijzonder de stichting van de op nationaal niveau van belang zijnde Philipsfabrieken, het is van belang als goed en herkenbaar voorbeeld van een kleinschalig fabrieksgebouw. The building has a composite brick mass on a roughly rectangular floor plan.
On the street side there are two single-storey block-shaped masses, the leftmost section is provided with a double gabled roof, covered with interlocking tiles. The right section has a hipped roof, covered with improved Dutch tiles. Between these two parts is an entrance. In front of this is a round factory chimney. Behind the above-described section lies a hall under a flat roof, in the middle provided with roof lights. Windows and doors have been renewed.

The former factory building, now as a museum forming part of the Philips buildings at the Emmasingel, is of general importance.
