Inleiding
Voormalig WAS- EN KLEEDLOKAAL "Gebouw 316", onderdeel van het complex Hembrugterrein - Artillerie Inrichtingen Hembrug, daterend uit de periode 1936-1941. Het object behoort tot de bebouwing uit de derde fase van de fabriek en bevindt zich op het westelijke terreindeel bestemd voor de machinefabriek.
Omschrijving
Was- en kleedlokaal, gebouwd op rechthoekige plattegrond en bestaande uit één bouwlaag onder geknikt zadeldak met de nok west-oost gericht. Het gebouw is op betonnen fundering opgetrokken in grauwe baksteen gemetseld in halfsteensverband. De kopgevels zijn voorzien van hoog geplaatste smalle betonnen vensters met roedenverdeling; de zijgevels bevatten beide vier uitgebouwde betonnen toegangsportalen met ijzeren ramen (in de tweede, vierde, zesde en achtste travee). De houten goten langs de gevels hebben een groot overstek.
Het gebouw heeft een vierbeukig houtskelet over negen traveeën bestaande uit kap met tussenstijlen op poeren en voorzien van schoren en dubbele koppelbalken die ook de schoren verbinden. De stijlen en schoren ondersteunen de gordingen. Tussen de spanten is bij de zijbeuken een windverband aangebracht. Op de kap zijn in de derde, vijfde en zevende travee drie ijzeren rupslantaarns aangebracht die in de nok een ontluchtingskanaal hebben. De tegelvloer is gedeeltelijk gaaf aanwezig.
Waardering
Het voormalige was- en kleedlokaal "Gebouw 316" is van algemeen belang wegens cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een bij een fabriek behorend reinigingsgebouw behorende uit het tweede kwart van de 20ste eeuw, en wegens constructieve waarde vanwege de houten constructie inclusief de rupslantaarns. Former WASHING AND CHANGING ROOM "Building 316", part of the Hembrugterrein complex - Hembrug Artillery Installations, dating from the period 1936-1941. The object belongs to the buildings from the third phase of the factory and is situated on the western part of the terrain designated for the machine factory.
Description
Washing and changing room, built on a rectangular floor plan and consisting of a single storey under a broken gabled roof with the ridge oriented west-east. The building is constructed on a concrete foundation in grey brick laid in Flemish bond. The gable ends are provided with narrow concrete windows set high up with glazing bars; the side facades each contain four projecting concrete access portals with iron frames (in the second, fourth, sixth and eighth bays). The wooden gutters along the facades have a large overhang.
The building has a four-aisle timber frame over nine bays consisting of a roof truss with intermediate posts on pedestals and provided with braces and double tie beams which also connect the braces. The posts and braces support the purlins. Between the roof trusses, wind bracing has been installed in the side aisles. Three iron caterpillar roof lights have been fitted to the roof truss in the third, fifth and seventh bays, which have a ventilation duct in the ridge. The tile floor is partially intact.
