Inleiding
Aan de westelijke zijde van de Stationslaan te Deurne staat, enigszins teruggelegen van de openbare weg, de VILLA Mariahof, daterend uit omstreeks 1905. Het pand, met elementen van Chaletstijl, werd gebouwd door J. Hermans, onder meer bestuurslid van de plaatselijke afdeling van de Noordbrabantse Christelijke Boerenbond en lid van de gemeenteraad.
Omschrijving.
De villa heeft een globaal T-vormige plattegrond en telt twee bouwlagen. De latere uitbouw aan de noordelijke zijde heeft één bouwlaag. Het hoofdgebouw wordt gedekt door een zadel- en steil tentdak (geveltoren), voorzien van eterniet-leien. Het tentdak wordt bekroond door een smeedijzeren dakhekje.
De gevels zijn opgetrokken in baksteen, die later is witgeschilderd, en worden afgesloten door een forse gootlijst op klossen. De straatgevel heeft een asymmetrische indeling met aan de rechterzijde een drielaagse geveltoren op rechthoekige grondslag, en links daarvan een terugliggend, rechtgesloten geveldeel. Dit deel heeft een via trap met hekwerk bereikbaar, uitgebouwd portiek onder lessenaardak, met een paneeldeur met bovenlicht, en op de begane grond twee gekoppelde segmentboogvensters en op de etage twee rondboogvensters.
De bovenste geleding van de toren is voorzien van vakwerk, bestaande uit houten regels en stijlen, gedeeltelijk voorzien van een windverband. De tussenliggende velden zijn witgekalkt.
Tegen het muurwerk van de toren is tussen twee rondboogvensters, in een keperboognis een tegeltableau geplaatst, blauw op een wit fond, voorstellende Maria met Kind, met de tekst: "Maria / Hof".
Tegen de zuidelijke gevel, die zoals de noordelijke wordt afgesloten door het forse overstek van het zadeldak, is een gemetselde, witgeschilderde erker op driezijdige grondslag geplaatst.
In het interieur is onder meer van belang de bordestrap. Het pand is grotendeels onderkelderd en heeft onder meer een tuinkelder en wijnkelder. De tuin, heeft een U-vormige oprijlaan en wordt door een poort met gemetselde pijlers en smeedijzeren hekwerk van de straat gescheiden.
Waardering
De villa met tuin en tuinhek is van algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, namelijk de stichting van woningen voor de elite nabij het station, het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het woonhuis. Het object is van architectuurhistorisch belang door de detaillering en de compositie, een relatief laat toegepaste, sobere maar verzorgde variant van het type villa dat vooral tussen ca. 1880-1900 in villa parken werd toegepast . Het huis is van belang vanwege de architectonische gaafheid van het exterieur.

Introduction
On the western side of the Stationslaan in Deurne stands, somewhat set back from the public road, the VILLA Mariahof, dating from approximately 1905. The property, with elements of Chalet style, was built by J. Hermans, among other things board member of the local section of the Noordbrabantse Christelijke Boerenbond and member of the municipal council.
Description.
The villa has a roughly T-shaped floor plan and has two storeys. The later extension on the northern side has one storey. The main building is covered by a saddle roof and steep tent roof (gable tower), provided with slate-cement slates. The tent roof is crowned by a wrought-iron roof railing.
The facades are built in brickwork, which was later whitewashed, and are finished with a substantial cornice on brackets. The street facade has an asymmetrical layout with on the right side a three-storey gable tower on rectangular ground plan, and to the left of it a set-back, straight-topped facade section. This part has a via staircase with railing accessible, projecting porch under a sloping roof, with a panelled door with fanlight, and on the ground floor two coupled segmental arch windows and on the storey two round arch windows.
The upper articulation of the tower is provided with half-timbering, consisting of wooden rails and stiles, partly provided with a wind brace. The intervening fields are whitewashed.
Against the wall of the tower, between two round arch windows, in a herringbone bond niche a tile tableau is placed, blue on a white background, depicting Mary with Child, with the text: "Maria / Hof".
Against the southern facade, which like the northern one is finished by the substantial overhang of the saddle roof, a brickwork, whitewashed bay window on three-sided ground plan is placed.
In the interior, among other things the staircase is of importance. The property is largely undercellared and has among other things a garden cellar and wine cellar. The garden has a U-shaped drive and is separated from the street by a gate with brickwork pillars and wrought-iron railing.
Valuation
The villa with garden and garden gate is of general interest. The property has cultural historical importance as a distinctive expression of socio-economic development, namely the establishment of dwellings for the elite near the station, and is also of importance as an example of the typological development of the dwelling house. The object is of architectural historical importance due to the detailing and the composition, a relatively late applied, sober but carefully executed variant of the villa type that was particularly applied between c. 1880-1900 in villa parks.
