Inleiding
Nabij de kruising van Stationslaan en Stationsstraat, staat aan de oostelijke zijde van de eerste, een WOONHUIS, gebouwd in 1933 door architect J. Deltrap. In de architectuur zijn elementen van de Delftse School te herkennen gecombineerd met meer moderne details zoals betonnen en stalen onderdelen.
Omschrijving
Het huis, met een globaal rechthoekige plattegrond, heeft twee bouwlagen en wordt gedekt door een zadeldak met fors overstek en goot op klossen, belegd met verbeterde Hollandse pannen. De gevels zijn gemetseld in baksteen. De straatgevel heeft een asymmetrische indeling met een forse middenrisaliet, bestaande uit een hoog opgemetselde schoorsteen aan de rechterkant, en een houten erker onder plat dak, met rechtgesloten triplet met kleine roedenverdeling en bekronende topgevel erboven. Links van de risaliet een ondiep rondboogportiek met een opgeklampte voordeur, rechts van de risaliet een samengesteld venster met kleine roedenverdeling. De gevels zijn sober gedetailleerd. Boven het triplet zijn drie betonnen luifels aangebracht. In de topgevel een klein rondlicht.
In het interieur is onder meer van belang het hoge trappenhuis met schoon metselwerk.
Tegen de voorgevel is naast de voordeur een bloembak gemetseld.
Waardering
Het woonhuis is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de sociaaleconomische ontwikkeling, namelijk de stichting van woningen voor de elite nabij het station, het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het woonhuis. Het object is van architectuurhistorisch belang door detaillering en de sobere maar evenwichtige opbouw en de voorzichtige combinatie van traditionalistische elementen met moderne aspecten (bijvoorbeeld stalen vormen). Het huis is van belang vanwege de architectonische gaafheid van het exterieur.

Description
The house, with a roughly rectangular ground plan, has two storeys and is covered by a gabled roof with substantial overhang and gutter on corbels, tiled with improved Dutch tiles. The facades are built in brick. The street facade has an asymmetrical arrangement with a substantial central risalit, consisting of a high-built chimney on the right side, and a wooden bay window under a flat roof, with a closed triplet with small glazing bars and an ornamental top gable above. To the left of the risalit a shallow round-arched porch with a clamped front door, to the right of the risalit a composite window with small glazing bars. The facades are soberly detailed. Above the triplet three concrete canopies have been affixed. In the top gable a small round opening.
In the interior, among other things, the tall stairwell with fine brickwork is of importance.
Against the front facade next to the front door a planter has been built in brick.
Valuation
The dwelling house is of general importance. It has cultural-historical importance as a special expression of socio-economic development, namely the establishment of dwellings for the elite near the station, and is also of importance as an example of the typological development of the dwelling house. The object is of architectural-historical importance through its detailing and the sober yet balanced composition and the careful combination of traditionalist elements with modern aspects (for example steel forms).
