De voormalige in neoclassicistische stijl vormgegeven ORANJERIE is op enige afstand ten noorden van het landhuis en koetshuis gelegen binnen het in Engelse landschapsstijl vormgegeven park. De plattegrond van de hoofdmassa is in hoofdzaak rechthoekig en is samengesteld uit twee langgerekte rechthoeken. De smallere rechthoek van de tuinmanswoning telt anderhalve bouwlaag met een zadeldak, gedekt met grijze Hollandse pannen. Op de nok bevinden zich twee opgemetselde schoorstenen. De enkele bouwlaag van de oranjerie is even hoog als de anderhalve bouwlaag van de woning. De oranjerie heeft een zeer flauw hellend zadeldak, bedekt met asfaltpapier. Aan de noordzijde van de woning bevindt zich een smalle strook met rechthoekige uitbouwen, alle voorzien van een plat dak. De gevels bestaan uit bepleisterde bakstenen. Vensters en dubbele openslaande deuren zijn voorzien van roedenverdelingen en segmentbogen.
De symmetrische voorgevel (zuidzijde) bezit zes gebosseerde pilasters met kapitelen. De pilasters dragen een sobere kroonlijst, met daarboven een houten, geprofileerde gootlijst. Tussen de pilasters zijn vijf paar hoge deuren aangebracht. De getoogde bovenlichten zijn voorzien van een roedenverdeling met acht ruiten. aangebracht.

De rechterzijgevel kent een in hoofdzaak vergelijkbare maar gespiegelde opzet als de linkerzijgevel. Het venster in de gevel van de oranjerie is echter pas bij de verbouwing tot woning aangebracht. In het midden van de topgevel bevindt zich één kruisvenster. Geheel rechts is de entree in de uitbouw met plat dak aangebracht. In de top van de topgevel bevindt zich een kleiner venster.
Het interieur van de oranjerie is door het aanbrengen van een van de buitenmuren vrijstaande extra woonlaag in een deel van de ruimte aanzienlijk gewijzigd.
Waardering
Het pand, behorende tot het landgoed Schothorst, is van algemeen belang vanwege zijn arhitectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf voorbeeld van een in neoclassicistische stijl vormgegeven oranjerie. Het pand is van grote ensemblewaarde in relatie tot het landhuis, het koetshuis en parkaanleg.

Description
The former ORANGERY, designed in neoclassical style, is situated at some distance to the north of the country house and coach house within the park laid out in English landscape style. The floor plan of the main mass is essentially rectangular and is composed of two elongated rectangles. The narrower rectangle of the gardener's cottage has one and a half storeys with a gabled roof, covered with grey Dutch tiles. On the ridge there are two built-up chimneys. The single storey of the orangery is as high as the one and a half storey of the dwelling. The orangery has a very gently sloping gabled roof, covered with asphalt paper. On the north side of the dwelling there is a narrow strip with rectangular outbuildings, all provided with a flat roof. The facades consist of plastered brickwork. Windows and double casement doors are provided with glazing bars and segmental arches.
The symmetrical front facade (southern side) has six rusticated pilasters with capitals. The pilasters carry a simple cornice, above which is a wooden, profiled gutter line. Between the pilasters five pairs of tall doors are installed. The arched fanlights are provided with a glazing bar division of eight panes.
Before the rear facade (northern side), which belongs to the gardener's cottage, three rectangular building masses are placed, of which the central one is the largest. Small windows are arranged asymmetrically over the facade sections.
The left side facade (western side) consists of the rectangular facade plane of the orangery with one window in it, and the slightly projecting stepped gable of the gardener's cottage. In the stepped gable, in the first storey two cross windows with louvre shutters are installed. At the top there are two smaller windows which are separated from each other by a mortared center mullion. These windows are also provided with louvre shutters.
The right side facade has an essentially comparable but mirrored arrangement as the left side facade. However, the window in the facade of the orangery was only installed during the conversion to a dwelling. In the middle of the stepped gable there is one cross window. At the far right the entrance to the outbuilding with flat roof has been installed. In the top of the stepped gable there is a smaller window.
The interior of the orangery has been substantially modified by the installation of an extra residential storey freestanding from one of the outer walls within part of the space.
Valuation
The property, belonging to the Schothorst estate, is of general importance because of its architectural-historical value as a well-preserved example of an orangery designed in neoclassical style. The property is of great ensemble value in relation to the country house, the coach house and park layout.
