Inleiding
MUZIEKTENT in een vormgeving die aansluit bij de traditie van de Neo-Hollandse-Renaissance, stamt uit het eind van de 19de eeuw en is gesitueerd in het zuidelijke, brede gedeelte van het park, nabij de Vijverstraat.
Blijkens een gedenksteen op één van de hardstenen neuten heeft in 1984 een restauratie plaatsgevonden, waarbij ondermeer het basement is vernieuwd.
Omschrijving
Geheel open muziektent bestaat uit een achthoekig basement van grauwe steen met op de hoeken gietijzeren kolommen, waarop een tentvormige overkapping met breed overstek rust.
Aan de westzijde geeft een vernieuwde hardhouten open trap toegang tot het podium. De hoeken zijn versterkt met hardstenen neuten. De hierop geplaaste gietijzeren kolommen zijn decoratief uitgevoerd met Neo-Hollandse-Renaissance-ornamentiek, zoals guirlandes en compositietkapitelen. Het eenvoudige ijzeren spijlen hekwerk tussen de kolommen is niet het oorspronkelijke. De ijzeren liggers op de kolommen hebben een decoratieve gietijzeren versiering met bandwerk. Het houten dak is gedekt met een zinken roevendak. Op de hoeken eindigen deze in een zinken waterspuwer in de vorm van een eenvoudige gargouille. De zinken dakbekroning is uitgevoerd als een piek met bolornamenten.

De muziektent is van algemeen belang wegens architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde als representatief voorbeeld van een typisch laat-19de-eeuwse muziektent in de voor die tijd gangbare Neo-Hollandse-Rennaissanceornamentiek en de materiaaltoepassing van gietijzer.
De bouwkundige onderdelen zijn zowel constructief, als wat materiaalgebruik en detaillering redelijk gaaf, in het bijzonder de gietijzeren onderdelen.
