WOONHUIS met LOOIERIJ, gebouwd in 1876 voor J. van Elshout.
Omschrijving.
Het bakstenen woonhuis telt één bouwlaag op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder zadeldak, evenwijdig aan de straat. Het dak is gedekt met verbeterde Hollandse pannen. De gevels zijn voorzien van een gepleisterde plint. Aan weerszijden van de voordeur is een zesruits raam aangebracht. Boven de ramen hangen decoratieve rolluikkasten. De linkerzijgevel heeft een schuifraam met luiken en in de topgevel een kleiner raam. Vooraan in de rechterzijgevel is een half venster geplaatst. Dit raam heeft een rolluikkast als aan de voorgevel. De achtergevel is voorzien van een opgeklampte deur en een zesruitsraam alsmede een kelderlicht. In het verlengde van de linkerzijgevel staat de éénlaagse achteraanbouw. Deze latere toevoeging heeft een plat dak en verbindt het huis met de looierij.
De looierij telt drie lagen op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder zadeldak, evenwijdig aan de nokrichting van het huis. Het dak heeft windveren en is gedekt met oud-Hollandse pannen. De kopse gevels zijn uitgevoerd in baksteen. Van de lange gevels bestaat de onderkant uit baksteen, hierin zijn getoogde vierruitsramen met metalen kozijnen geplaatst. De bovenste helft is van houten gepotdekselde planken met luiken gemaakt. In het midden van de linkergevel bevinden zich boven elkaar drie getoogde poorten. Aan weerszijden daarvan kleine getoogde raampjes. Boven de poort, in de topgevel een hijsinrichting.
In het interieur van het huis is de indeling in oorspronkelijke staat gebleven. Een centrale gang doorsnijdt het pand, aan weerszijden daarvan bevinden zich kamers. In de kelder plavuizen op de grond. Opkamer en inbouwkasten zijn elementen uit de oude situatie die gehandhaafd zijn. Ook in de achterkamer bevinden zich nog enige originele elementen zoals inbouwkasten en lambrisering.
Waardering.
Het woonhuis met looierij is van algemeen belang. The brick residence comprises one storey on a rectangular ground plan under a gabled roof, parallel to the street. The roof is covered with improved Dutch tiles. The facades are provided with a rendered plinth. On either side of the front door is a six-pane window. Above the windows hang decorative roller-shutter boxes. The left side gable has a sash window with shutters and in the gable a smaller window. At the front of the right side gable a half window has been placed. This window has a roller-shutter box as on the front facade. The rear gable is provided with a mounted door and a six-pane window as well as a cellar light. In line with the left side gable stands the single-storey rear extension. This later addition has a flat roof and connects the house with the tannery.
The tannery comprises three storeys on a rectangular ground plan under a gabled roof, parallel to the ridge direction of the house. The roof has wind-braces and is covered with old Dutch tiles.
