Inleiding.
Het voormalige OFFICIERSCASINO werd gebouwd in 1934 in Nieuw Zakelijke stijl naar ontwerp van J. Sparenburg. Het pand heeft een markante hoekligging in het noordelijke singelgebied en fungeert momenteel als kantoor. Het interieur is bij de functiewijziging geheel veranderd, ook qua ruimtelijke opzet.
Omschrijving.
Het tot drie bouwlagen opklimmende hoekpand met platte daken heeft een vrijwel vierkante plattegrond. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen, met een donkerder kleur voor de plint. De bouwmassa's klimmen trapsgewijs op van een eenlaagse achterbouw tot het drielaagse middendeel. Dit heeft een afgeschuinde hoek en springt ten opzichte van de tweelaagse delen ernaast terug, zoals deze op hun beurt weer inspringen ten opzichte van de eenlaagse hoekdelen. Het pand is symmetrisch van opzet, iedere zijde telt totaal vijf vensterassen met brede laddervensters. Deze hebben houten kozijnen en zwart geglazuurde betegelde dorpels. Bij het hoogste en het laagste bouwdeel worden de vensters om de hoek doorgezet.
