Inleiding.
Het WOONHUIS werd gebouwd in Eclectische stijl in 1883 en vormt een onderdeel van de in diezelfde tijd tot stand gekomen gevelwand aan een uitvalsweg van de binnenstad. Het is het gaafst bewaard gebleven pand uit de rij nummer 8 tot en met 16. Het pand wordt van de andere panden in dit blok gescheiden door verticale stuclijsten. Rond 1980 zijn er twee grote dakkapellen onder plat dak toegevoegd.
Omschrijving.
Het tweelaagse woonhuis telt vier traveeën en is opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen. Op het zadeldak met de nok parallel aan de straat liggen rode tuile-du-Nordpannen. De plint en de vensterdorpels zijn van hardsteen. Onder de vensterdorpels zijn sierlijsten aangebracht. De T-vensters op de begane grond en de etage zijn voorzien van een stucomlijsting met oreillons en kuiven. Deze decoratie omgeeft ook de paneeldeur in de tweede travee van links. Het fries is voorzien van gepleisterde velden en voluutvormige consoles dragen de geprofileerde kroonlijst met tandlijst en klosjes.
Waardering.
Het pand is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, met name als onderdeel van de stadsuitleg van de late negentiende eeuw. The RESIDENTIAL HOUSE was built in Eclectic style in 1883 and forms part of the facade range created at that same time on an exit road of the inner city. It is the best-preserved property in the row numbered 8 to 16. The property is separated from the other buildings in this block by vertical stucco mouldings. Around 1980 two large roof dormers with flat roofs were added.

The two-storey residential house comprises four bays and is constructed of machine-made brick. On the gabled roof with the ridge parallel to the street lie red Tuile du Nord roof tiles. The plinth and window sills are of hardstone. Below the window sills decorative mouldings are applied. The T-windows on the ground floor and first floor are provided with stucco moulding featuring oreillons and pediments. This decoration also surrounds the panelled door in the second bay from the left. The frieze is provided with plastered fields and scroll-shaped consoles support the moulded cornice with dentil moulding and beads.
