Inleiding.
Het WOONHUIS werd in Eclectische stijl gebouwd in 1895 en vormt een onderdeel van de in diezelfde tijd tot stand gekomen gevelwand aan een uitvalsweg van de binnenstad. Oorspronkelijk diende het mogelijk ook als winkel, heden is het pand in gebruik als boven- en benedenwoning.
Omschrijving.
Het tweelaagse woonhuis telt vijf traveeën en heeft een gepleisterde voorgevel. Op het zadeldak met de nok parallel aan de straat liggen rode oudhollandse dakpannen. De plint en de vensterdorpels zijn van hardsteen. Onder de vensterdorpels zijn sierlijsten aangebracht. De schuifvensters op de begane grond zijn voorzien van een stucomlijsting met oreillons en kuiven. Deze decoratie omgeeft ook de paneeldeuren in de middelste travee en geheel rechts. Op de eerste etage bevinden zich vier getoogde stolpvensters met gedeeld bovenlicht met afgeronde verbreding op de kruising. De kroonlijst is geprofileerd, de goothoogte ligt lager dan die van de aangrenzende panden.

Het pand is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, met name als onderdeel van de stadsuitleg van de late negentiende eeuw.
