Inleiding.
Het DUBBELE WOONHUIS werd gebouwd in Eclectische stijl in 1896 naar ontwerp van architect C.P. van Genk, in opdracht van J. v.d. Eijnden. Het vormt een markant op de hoek gesitueerd onderdeel van de in diezelfde tijd tot stand gekomen gevelwand aan een uitvalsweg van de binnenstad. Antwerpsestraat 15 is nog altijd in gebruik als woning, het andere pand is heden kantoor.
Omschrijving.
Het tweelaagse hoekpand heeft een afgeschuinde hoek en een afgeplat schilddak met vernieuwde kunstleien. Het telt zes traveeën aan de zijde van de Antwerpsestraat en een afgeschuinde hoek van een vensteras. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen, met gepleisterde speklagen, de plint en vensterdorpels zijn van hardsteen. Onder de vensterdorpels zijn raambefjes aangebracht. De getoogde stolpvensters hebben rond het bovenlicht een stucomlijsting met kuiven. Deze decoratie omgeeft ook het bovenlicht van de paneeldeur van nummer 15. Dit woonhuis beslaat de drie linker vensterassen. De deurtravee springt iets naar voren. Boven de deur bevindt zich een balkon met smeedwerk balusters op zware bewerkte voluutconsoles.
