Inleiding.
GRAFTOMBE in Neo-Gotische stijl uit 1900 met treurengel gesigneerd door de beeldhouwer Jan Custers, gesitueerd in de middencirkel rond de Calvarieheuvel.
Omschrijving.
De rechthoekige hardstenen graftombe staat op een voetplaat en verjongt naar boven en is 1.31 meter breed, 2 meter lang en 1 meter hoog. In de zijden bevinden zich wit marmeren plaquettes met de namen en functies van de overledenen. Hier rusten onder meer een lid der Gedeputeerde Staten van Noord-Brabant, geb. 22 oct. 1822 overl. 5 mei 1870. Zijn naam is onleesbaar geworden. Voorts Jacobus Verduyn geb. 12 mrt 1785 overl. 24 juli 1862 en zijne echtgenoote Maria Raats 12 mrt 1793 - 17 april 1856. De namen worden voorafgegaan door: D.O.M. en besloten door R.I.P. De laatste ter aarde bestelling vond plaats in 1902 en betrof de in 1825 geboren Cornelis David Lodewijk Verduyn. Op deze tombe staat een groot beeld, hoogstwaarschijnlijk van lichtgekleurde hardsteen, van 1.30 meter hoog dat is gesigneerd door J. Custers uit Stratum. Een geknielde engel met olijftak bij de voet reikt een lauwerkrans naar een graf in de vorm van een door klimop overwoekerd kruis. Aan de voet van dit kruis is een groot anker afgebeeld.
Waardering.
De graftombe is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. Het heeft kunsthistorisch belang als voorbeeld van het werk van het atelier Custers. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven.

The rectangular ashlar grave monument stands on a footplate and tapers upward and measures 1.31 metres wide, 2 metres long and 1 metre high. In the sides are white marble plaques with the names and functions of the deceased. Here rest amongst others a member of the Gedeputeerde Staten of North Brabant, born 22 Oct. 1822 died 5 May 1870. His name has become illegible. Furthermore Jacobus Verduyn born 12 Mar. 1785 died 24 July 1862 and his wife Maria Raats 12 Mar. 1793 - 17 April 1856. The names are preceded by: D.O.M. and concluded by R.I.P. The last burial took place in 1902 and concerned Cornelis David Lodewijk Verduyn born in 1825. On this monument stands a large figure, most probably of light-coloured ashlar, of 1.30 metres high which is signed by J. Custers from Stratum. A kneeling angel with olive branch at the foot proffers a laurel wreath towards a grave in the form of a cross overgrown by ivy. At the foot of this cross a large anchor is depicted.
Assessment.
The grave monument is of general importance. The object has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of social and spiritual development, in particular the development of Catholic burial culture, it is also important for the typological development of the grave monument. It has art-historical importance as an example of the work of the Custers atelier. It has been well preserved.
