The register's description

Inleiding.

Voormalig BUREELGEBOUW, KEUKEN, ONTSPANNINGSLOKAAL.

Introduction.

Former OFFICE BUILDING, KITCHEN, RECREATION ROOM. Today the building still combines numerous administrative and recreational functions, and it also houses the kitchen with dining hall, a quiet room and a crèche.

The building was constructed in 1941-1942 as an imitation of the German Craft-traditional building style.

Description.

The very large composite building is located on the southern edge of the main road between numbers 38 and 72 and opposite number 41. The building, which is the largest of the entire complex and can be seen together with number 11 as the main building, consists of three rectangular building blocks placed at right angles to each other with axes running northeast and northwest. On the southeastern side a rectangular waiting room for the dining hall was built in 1995; this falls outside the protection. The external appearance of the building corresponds closely, particularly in its detailing, with that of building 11. The main forms are again based on the farm-like type of the rest of the complex. Although this building also has only one storey, the attic storeys are used relatively intensively here, in contrast to most of the complex, where use of the attic storey was not initially intended. The building has, among other things: façades in fair-faced brickwork, gabled roofs with hipped ends, covered with improved Dutch tiles, various, differently designed entrances in all wings of the building, windows and entrances with natural stone frames and corner reinforcements, single and compound roof dormers, some of which still have the original catslide roof with tile covering, a stepped gable with pulley opening and beam, a zinc-clad ventilation shaft with roof spire and a very extensive basement complex. In the period after the war various entrances, a fire escape and the waiting room for the dining hall were added, and the windows with casement frames were also installed at that time. Internally the layout was modified somewhat.

Valuation.

The building is of general importance.

The building has cultural-historical significance as a special expression of a landscape and administrative development.
