Inleiding.
Op de Israëlitische begraafplaats "Sombre Hadass" staat, direct aan de noordelijke zijde van de oost-west getraceerde hoofdstraat en nabij de grafmonumenten van M. Unterman (5) en M. Halevy (6), het Neo-Romaanse GRAFMONUMENT van de familie Bernsohn, daterende uit omstreeks 1924.
Omschrijving.
Het in hardsteen en kalksteen uitgevoerde grafmonument heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en wordt gedekt door een getrapt platdak. De achterwand is gesloten en aan de noordelijke zijde voorzien van de inscriptie: "Bernard Bernsohn". In de zuidelijke gevel bevindt zich de hoefijzerboogvormige ingang van het monument, die gesteld is op gekoppelde kolommen. Deze gevel wordt aan de bovenzijde afgesloten door een marmeren band met inscriptie: "La Bonté. L'Abnegation. Le Travail.". In de boogzwikken enkele gestileerde davidsterren in laagreliëf. De zijgevels zijn beide voorzien van dubbele hoefijzerboogvormige openingen, alle gesteld op kolommen, waarvan de middelste gedeeld wordt. Aan de binnenzijde, tegen de achtergevel aangebracht, een plaquette met de opschriften: "Bernard / Bernsohn / Né en Russie (Ukraïne) / le 17 Juin 1865 / Décédé à Anvers / le 18 Mai 1924" en "Françoise / Bernsohn- Stern / Née à Lublin / le 25 Janvier 1872 / Décédé à Anvers / le 1 Mai 1936".

On the Israelite cemetery "Sombre Hadass", directly on the northern side of the east-west oriented main street and near the sepulchral monuments of M. Unterman (5) and M. Halevy (6), stands the Neo-Romanesque SEPULCHRAL MONUMENT of the Bernsohn family, dating from around 1924.
Description.
The sepulchral monument, executed in sandstone and limestone, has a rectangular plan and is covered by a stepped flat roof. The rear wall is closed and on the northern side provided with the inscription: "Bernard Bernsohn". In the southern facade is the horseshoe arch-shaped entrance to the monument, which rests on coupled columns. This facade is closed at the top by a marble band with inscription: "La Bonté. L'Abnegation. Le Travail.". In the arch spandrels are several stylized Stars of David in low relief. The side facades are both provided with double horseshoe arch-shaped openings, all resting on columns, of which the middle one is divided. On the inside, attached to the rear wall, is a plaque with the inscriptions: "Bernard / Bernsohn / Born in Russia (Ukraine) / on 17 June 1865 / Died in Antwerp / on 18 May 1924" and "Françoise / Bernsohn- Stern / Born in Lublin / on 25 January 1872 / Died in Antwerp / on 1 May 1936".
