Inleiding.
In de zuidoostelijke hoek van de begraafplaats "Sombre Hadass" van de H. Stichting van Waarachtige Liefdadigheid te Putte, bevindt zich op het oudste deel van de begraafplaats een Traditionalistisch MONUMENT, uit 1935, dat herinnert aan de mutatie van veel joodse graven van de omstreeks 1930 geruimde Antwerpse openbare begraafplaats Kiel, naar de Israëlitische begraafplaatsen te Putte.
Omschrijving.
Het geheel in hardsteen uitgevoerde monument bestaat uit een in plattegrond cirkelvormige, getrapte onderbouw, waarop een kubus-vormig lichaam, met een getrapte bovenbouw, bekroond door een gestileerde granaatappel met davidsterren. Aan de westelijke, zuidelijke, oostelijke en noordelijke zijde staan achtereenvolgens de opschriften: "Hier rusten de stoffelijke overblijf / selen van de graven (1828-1921) van / de ontruimde Kielbegraafplaats te / Antwerpen. Overgebracht door de zor / gen van het Centraal Comité opgericht / in 1931 op initiatief der drie Chevros / Kadischds te Antwerpen onder voor / zitterschap van wijlen den Heer Max / Halevy in leven President van de / Israëlitische Gemeente van Antwerpen / Dit gedenkteken werd onthuld / 24 Eloel 5695 - 22 September 1935", "De afgevaardigden van de Chevra Kadischa / van de Israëlitische Gemeente van Antwerpen / Jules Schmerb / President van de Israëlitischen Gemeente / Simon Aptroot / Secretaris van de Israëlitischen Gemeente / Sam Fischer / Ch. In the southeastern corner of the cemetery "Sombre Hadass" of the H. The monument, executed entirely in sandstone, consists of a circular stepped base in plan, on which stands a cube-shaped body with a stepped superstructure, crowned by a stylized pomegranate with Stars of David.
