The register's description

Inleiding.

Introduction.

The LONG-FACADE FARMHOUSE was built in the third quarter of the nineteenth century. Alterations took place around 1900 and 1930 and finally around 1980. The last alteration resulted in a simplification of the windows and front door and a different roof edge closure.

Description.

The long-facade farmhouse has a rectangular plan and is constructed of red handmade brick with straight wall anchors (ornamental) and has a gabled roof with half-hipped end at the stable. The roof is covered with thatch, since the last alteration finished with frost tiles. The plinth is plastered. The short side gable faces the road and has on the far right a small casement window. In the top gable two more of these windows with small glazing bars. The actual front facade faces the Beatrixweg. From left to right there is a succession of three round and basket arch stable doors. The residential section has two sash windows with renewed shutters, between which a panelled door with fanlight. In front of the residential section is a small step with gothicising multi-coloured cement tiles. The left side gable is blank. The rear gable is provided with stable doors and a sash window at the residential section.

The interior has in the stable section the old roof truss structure. The front door gives direct access to the living room. In the room there is a bedstead, a door to a side room, a small window through which one could look into the stable and sash doors to the kitchen beyond.

Valuation.

The farmhouse is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical significance as an expression of a landscape development, in particular the flourishing of agriculture in Central Brabant in the late nineteenth century. It has ensemble value, given the historical-spatial relationship with green spaces, roads, waterways and soil conditions. The complex is important because of the integrity of the exterior and interior and in relation to the structural and visual integrity of the landscape surroundings. As a whole it is of significance because of an increasingly growing typological rarity.
