Inleiding
KARSCHOP, gebouwd rond 1870 en heden in gebruik als opslagruimte.
In ca. 1980 is de gevel aan de straatzijde vernieuwd in machinale baksteen.
Omschrijving
De gevels van de voormalige karschop met rechthoekige plattegrond zijn grotendeels opgetrokken uit geteerde houten planken. De bovenste gedeelten aan de zijden onder de kap zijn van stro. De rieten kap met wolfeinden kraagt over aan de zijden en wordt aan één zijde geschraagd door ruwe houten palen. Het inwendige van de kapconstructie met rondhout is authentiek. Eenvoudige vierruits vensters en deuren
Waardering
Het karschop is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de landbouw in de Maaskant en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de boerderij in dit gebied in de late negentiende eeuw. Het heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een groep boerderijen die samenhangt met de ontwikkeling der verkaveling en de laat-negentiende-eeuwse dorpsontwikkeling. Description
The facades of the former card-comb shop with rectangular ground plan are largely constructed of tarred wooden planks. The upper sections at the sides beneath the roof are of straw. The thatched roof with half-hipped ends projects at the sides and is braced at one side by rough wooden posts. The interior of the roof truss structure with round timber is authentic. Simple four-paned windows and doors.
Valuation
The card-comb shop is of general interest. The object is of cultural-historical importance as an example of the socio-economic development of agriculture in the Maaskant and as an example of the typological development of the farmhouse in this area in the late nineteenth century. It has ensemble value as part of a group of farmhouses related to the development of the land division and late nineteenth-century village development. It is important for the integrity of its interior and exterior and is as such rare.
