Omschrijving onderdeel 6:
INRIJHEK en MUUR, XVIII; imposant inrijhek in de muur, die het voorplein afscheidt van de Ring, de brede dorpsstraat/plein. Hek: twee in de jaren zestig van de twintigste eeuw opnieuw opgetrokken bakstenen (ijsselsteenformaat) kruispijlers op ruitvormige (!) grondslag gedekt door natuurstenen dekplaten met kroonlijst; hierop natuurstenen wapenstenen met rijke kronen gedekt en versierd met acanthusbladeren; per steen twee wapens: één aan de kasteelzijde, één aan de dorpszijde; zwartgeverfde smeedijzeren hekvleugels met spijlen eindigend in speerpunten met vergulde koordkwasten. Muur: het deel ten noorden van het hek sluit aan op het koetshuis; rode baksteen met steunberen aan voorpleinzijde en hellende rollaag; het zuidelijke muurdeel eindigend bij de gracht is van gele ijsselsteentjes, gedekt met rollaag; aan de binnenzijde pilastervormige steunberen.

ENTRANCE GATE and WALL, 18th century; imposing entrance gate in the wall, which separates the forecourt from the Ring, the broad village street/square. Gate: two brick (Ijssel stone format) cross piers rebuilt in the nineteen-sixties on a diamond-shaped (!) footprint covered by natural stone coping slabs with cornice; on this natural stone heraldic stones with rich crowns covered and decorated with acanthus leaves; per stone two coats of arms: one on the castle side, one on the village side; black-painted wrought iron gate wings with spikes ending in spear points with gilded cord tassels. Wall: the section north of the gate adjoins the coach house; red brick with buttresses on the forecourt side and sloping course; the southern wall section ending at the moat is of yellow Ijssel stone tiles, covered with course; on the inside pilaster-shaped buttresses.
