RUÏNE en KEERMUUR, XIII en later; op het kasteeleiland liggen in de NW-hoek gerestaureerde bakstenen restanten (afgedekt met cementplaten) van de kelders en bakovens van een deel van het middeleeuwse slot; ze maken in bouwkundige zin deel uit van de hoge grachtmuur om het eiland; aan de eilandzijde is de muur opgetrokken tot een borstwering, die enigszins in hoogte varieert en deels gedekt is met een rollaag, deels met een vlakke ezelsrug. De muur heeft bij de brug (zie onder 5) en aan de buitenzijde boven de zuidarm van de gracht vanouds vlieggaten - waarachter broedruimten - voor duiven: zeldzaam.

RUIN and RETAINING WALL, 13th century and later; on the castle island lie in the NW corner restored brick remains (covered with cement slabs) of the cellars and bake ovens of part of the medieval castle; they form in architectural terms part of the high moat wall around the island; on the island side the wall rises to a coping, which varies somewhat in height and is partly covered with a roll course, partly with a flat ridge and furrow. The wall has at the bridge (see under 5) and on the outside above the south arm of the moat traditionally flight holes - behind which breeding spaces - for pigeons: rare.
