Omschrijving onderdeel 2: TUINAANLEG.
XXa op ouder stramien van landschappelijke aanleg; langgerekte symmetrische neo-barokke achter het huis gelegen aanleg met centrale as, die gecentreerd is op het midden van de oostvleugel van het hoofdgebouw; het geheel is omgracht; de as bestaat uit een verdiept gelegen grand canal, dat in het midden onderbroken is door een brede dam, waarop een ronde buxusparterre met centrale vaas (zie onder 7); zo zijn er eigenlijk twee identieke langgerekte vijvers in elkaars verlengde; elke vijver is hippodroomvormig -de einden zijn halfrond- en heeft een lage grasoever waarlangs een smal rondgaand zandpad; daarnaast weer een grastalud in dezelfde vorm; langs de bovenrand ervan (maaiveldhoogte) een begeleidend zandpad met buxushaagjes aan beide zijden; in het midden van de lange zijden telkens een bakstenen trapje van vijf treden; aan het einde van de as een trapje in natuursteen met vier treden (zie onder 5). De rest van de symmetrische tuin bestaat uit heesterborders (o.m. rododendrons) en oude solitairbomen - wellicht had het terrein in de 19e eeuw een landschappelijke aanleg. Er is langs de binnenzijde van de gracht een omlopend zandpad, gedeeltelijk begeleid door linden. Direct achter de borg ligt een verhoogd grindterras, XXb, opgesloten door een bakstenen keermuur van ca. 1 m. hoog; de inrichting ervan is van ondergeschikt belang. Tussen het terras en de eerste vijver ligt -eveneens in de as- een rozentuin met vier door een padenkruis gescheiden vakken met buxusranden; midden op het kruispunt een 17de-eeuwse zonnewijzer (zie onder 7). Aan de buitenzijde van de oostelijke en zuidelijke grachtarmen loopt een eikenlaan die verbonden is met de oorspronkelijke 17de-eeuwse aanleg; geen verharding.
Waardering
TUINAANLEG is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom;
- vanwege de cultuurhistorische en landschappelijke waarden;
- als aardig voorbeeld van een kleinschalige neo-geometrische aanleg op ouder stramien.

Description of component 2: GARDEN LAYOUT.
20th century on older scheme of landscape layout; elongated symmetrical neo-Baroque layout behind the house with central axis, which is centred on the middle of the east wing of the main building; the whole is surrounded by a moat; the axis consists of a sunken grand canal, which is interrupted in the middle by a broad dam, on which a round boxwood parterre with central vase (see below 7); thus there are actually two identical elongated pools in each other's extension; each pool is hippodrome-shaped - the ends are semi-circular - and has a low grass bank along which runs a narrow surrounding sand path; alongside it again a grass slope in the same shape; along the upper edge of it (ground level) an accompanying sand path with boxwood hedges on both sides; in the middle of the long sides in each case a small brick staircase of five steps; at the end of the axis a staircase in natural stone with four steps (see below 5). The rest of the symmetrical garden consists of shrub borders (among others rhododendrons) and old solitary trees - possibly the terrain had a landscape layout in the 19th century. Along the inside of the moat runs a surrounding sand path, partly accompanied by linden trees. Directly behind the borg lies a raised gravel terrace, XXb, enclosed by a brick retaining wall of approximately 1 m. high; its arrangement is of subsidiary importance. Between the terrace and the first pool lies - likewise in the axis - a rose garden with four compartments separated by a path cross with boxwood edges; in the middle of the intersection a 17th-century sundial (see below 7). On the outside of the eastern and southern moat arms runs an oak avenue connected to the original 17th-century layout; no hard surfacing.

GARDEN LAYOUT is of general importance:
- on account of its age;
- on account of its cultural-historical and landscape values;
- as a fine example of a small-scale neo-geometric layout on an older scheme.
